NEPTUNE SURVEY EXPEDITION Neptune purchased the Poseidon in 2009 and has since completely overhauled the vessels engines, and refurbished the entire vessel to the highest of standards in accordance with our strict health and safety policies. The vessel has a permanently mobilised survey spread, however Neptune ehf pride itself on its ability to rapidly install various survey equipment to meet the needs of a project. The Poseidon was built in 1974 and was completely redesigned in 2009 to be a multipurpose geophysical and ROV DP support vessel. At Neptune we believe the environment in which our employees work is of paramount importance and for this reason all the cabins have been upgraded to the highest of standards with satellite TV and IP phones installed in every room. A modern gym has been installed along with a TV and games room for recreation use. The online and offline survey rooms were installed to provide a spacious and modern working environment for on-board personnel. A large conference room was also installed for daily meetings. During its refit a Kongsberg +1 Dynamic Positioning system was installed. It provides excellent station keeping ensuring efficient and safe operations. Also during its refit, all the engines were completely overhauled along with ships generators and various other ships systems. The vessel has two A-frames. The largest of the two is rated at 20 tonnes, thus is able to launch very large survey equipment. The second a-frame was purposely designed to launch an ROV safely and efficiently. The vessel also benefits from an extremely large deck space of 300 m 2 . It can used to store extensive survey equipment and materials and to provide extra accommodation if required. The permanently installed survey spread meets the requirements of most surveys, however Neptune ehf are able to rapidly install many other surveys systems to meet the requirements of most survey projects. This includes deep water MBES systems.
