The PDBM is a master's program in management and  attracts people from a wide range of academic disciplines.

It is sought by those who want to work for companies which follow scientific approaches to management.

The core courses in an PDBM program introduce the various areas of business such as accounting, finance, marketing, human resources and operations management.

Many PDGM programs include elective courses.

Introduction

Page 3: Pdbm : management courses by WLC College India

One of the major decisions a management degree aspirant has to make is the college or course they want to pursue.

The problem is all the more acute thanks to the multiple degrees on offer – MMS, MBA, PDBM, PGDM, PGPM, PGDIM, etc.

In most cases, there are not sufficient differentiators among the various courses on offer.

As far as equivalence is concerned; There is no difference in the validity or acceptance of these courses.

In India only Universities can grant degrees. Even institutes like IIM offer PDBM as they are not affiliated to a university.

The issue of nomenclature was created to merely ensure a clear demarcation of the origin of the award. There was no intention to create two levels of awards and the degree is in no way superior to the diploma.

PDBM v/s MBA

Universities in India are very slow in adopting their curriculum to the changing industry demand.

This is why you do not get an MMS in retail management or an MBA in Financial Markets, though these are the fastest growing segments.

The PDBM on the other hand, is designed and developed by the college and is far more flexible in its curriculum design.

This flexibility makes it possible for the college to continuously upgrade and improve the curriculum.  This makes the PDBM far more industry oriented than theMBA.

The PDBM is valid for pursuing your education in any international university or college.

In some cases the foreign University may not be aware of the PDBM concept. The aspirant in such cases will merely have to get an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities.

With this certificate from AIU, the aspirant can get admission to the international University of her choice.

1. Never make your final college selection without visiting at least your top two or three choices. No matter how well you think you know a college or university, you can learn a lot (good or bad) by spending a few hours on campus, including whether or not the college feels like a good "fit" for you. 2. There are no exceptions to rule #1.

3. A college is not necessarily right for you because its name is familiar. That might seem pretty obvious, but you wouldn't believe how many students equate educational quality with name recognition.

4. Investigate at least three or four colleges you know little or nothing about but offer the field(s) of study of interest to you, are appropriately selective for a students with your grades and are located in geographic areas attractive to you

5. There are very few worse reasons to select a college than because your friends are going there.

6. Investigate, investigate, investigate, and be sure to separate reality from (often baseless) opinions.

7. Do not rule out colleges early because of cost. Many colleges offer scholarships, financial aid, and tuition installment plans that make them far more affordable than they may first appear.

8. Deadlines, whether for college applications, financial aid, scholarships, campus housing, etc. are not suggestions. Miss a deadline and you may find yourself in deep you-know-what.

9. Don't be afraid to apply to a few "reach schools". You might be pleasantly surprised by the results if you are not entirely unrealistic. Then, apply to at least three colleges you like which are highly likely to admit you.

10. When it is time to make your final choice, discuss your options with your family, your counselor (if you have one), and others who know you well and whose judgment you value.

How to select your college?

WLCI offers programmes in Business for undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to WLCI certificates, our students are awarded internationally recognized diploma by Wigan & Leigh College U.K.

The  programmes provides students a combination of academic and professional training that sets them apart from their peers and equips them to directly enter the industry with easily adaptable and transferable skills.

Based on their requirements students can tailor their learning path as per their own specifications and choose from a variety of course options.
