PCT’s EQ Link™ optical Ethernet transport and distribution platform provides a reliable and cost effective delivery mechanism for broadband data services over optical fiber. Through use of CWDM, DWDM, and advanced optical filter technology new data streams can be multiplexed onto existing fiber optic transport of traditional 1310 nm CATV or data signals, thus recovering fiber usage of existing fiber.

Wide selection of CWDM modules allow for provisioning of Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet data services to multiple customers over the same pair of fiber.

Advanced product features such as in-band management and diagnostics allows for monitoring, configuration and remote testing of both local and remote modules without the need for expensive truck rolls. Management options include web view, SNMP, telnet, and RS232.

Availability of 24/7 customer support, remote and on-site assistance, design assistance along with the complete end-to-end product of all active and passive components offering makes EQ-Link the complete product solution for the service provider’s next generation last mile access needs.

The 2312 Series Fast Ethernet Media Converter Modules provide optical transport of 100 Mbps Ethernet signals up to 100 km over singlemode optical fiber and multiple signals using CWDM. Environmentallyhardenedtoperformfrom-40to+60°C,operatorscan now offer an Ethernet handoff anywhere in the outside plant. The unit is designed to be installed like a standard HFC analog node.Itcanbeplantpoweredusing60/90VACorplugpoweredusing 120/240 VAC from a nearby power supply. The THC and THP model media converters are ideally suited for customers without “closet” space for CPE equipment and eliminate the need for expensive environmentally controlled pedestals or housings. This allows for the opticalEthernetBackhaul of next generation,metro, outdoor networking products such as Wi-Fi, RF Radio and Microwave radio systems. The housing is also designed to allow for a second media converter for daisy chaining applications.

The 2312 Series Fast Ethernet Media Converter Modules are layer 2 protocol (MAC layer) modules that support enhanced in-bandmanagement functions such as loopback, latency and jitter testing as well as local and remote traffic statistics. Support of IEEEprotocols and large frame sizes allows for transparent transportof VLAN tagged and double tagged frames, MPLS packets, and other prioritization protocols.MIB databases and amanagement“console”programareprovidedwiththePCT-CHASSIS-IItoallowflexibility in monitoring through SNMP software, web browser or hyperterminal.

Rate limiting in 1 Mbps increment from 1 to 99 Mbps, and theport enable/disable function, allows for changes in service level agreements remotely, by software withthout the need of expensive and time consuming truck rolls.

The PCT-3312BTFx Series Ethernet Media Converters provideopticaltransportofupto1000Mbps(or2000Mbpsinfullduplexmode) Ethernet signals for distances of up to 550 m usingmultimodeoptical fiberorup to100kmwhenusingsinglemodeoptical fiber. This standalone media converter works well as a pair withthechassismountedCCT-3312BTFxSeriesMediaConverterModule to provide a complete Ethernet transport solution featuring a100Base-FXinterface.AvailabilityofCWDMwavelengthsallowsimultaneous transmission of multiple streams of data over the same fiber.

Enhanced monitoring and management features are available when combinedwith theCCT-3312BTFx in thePCT-CHASSIS-II. These features include loop back testing, RMON counters,andSNMP traps.MIB databases and amanagement “console”programareprovidedwiththePCT-CHASSIS-IItoallowflexibilityin monitoring through SNMP software, HyperTerminal or web browser. The ability to monitor the PCT-3312 and the CCT-3312 throughthe16-slotPCT-CHASSIS-IIallowsremotemonitoringofupto32modulesusingonlyoneIPaddress.

The fiberoptic interface functionsaccording to1000FXEthernetstandards facilitates different connector options such as SC, ST or MTRJ.TheRJ45(STP)portcanbeoperatedat10or100or1000Mbps. Auto speed negotiation was well as half duplex or full duplex operation is supported on all PCT-3312modules. In full duplexconfiguration, the PCT-3312 provides a maximum bandwidth of up to2Gbps. Optional CWDM optical uplinks allow for maximum scalability or single fiber applications. The SWH2109+ combines the simple,affordable fiber connectivity of a media converter with the flexibility andscalabilityofaswitch.Itisideallysuitedforlocationswithmorethan one customer or one customer with more than one network or service.
