Vice Chancellor’s Message,

My Dear Alumni,

I have a great pleasure in writing this to you as a special communication. As you may be

aware that the motto of Bharati Vidyapeeth is ‘Social Transformation Through Dynamic

Education’ to fulfill this motto Poona college of Pharmacy has initiated different activities

.

I am indeed happy to inform you that Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Poona

College of Pharmacy, of which you were once illustrious student, has decided to publish

PCPians' Bulletin. Ever since you completed your course of study from this college, many new

developments have taken place. The college has made tremendous progress in all directions. It

has achieved higher pinnacles of success. It has now acquired high recognition nationally and

internationally in pharmaceutical sciences and allied subject areas. The academic excellence

achieved through highly sophisticated infrastructure facilities speak of the reputation of the

college.

I believe that PCPians' Bulletin published by Poona college of Pharmacy will act as a

bridge for reunion of our past students and past faculty members and to recall the splendid days

which we spent together. Being Vice Chancellor of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University on

behalf of University I give best wishes to the new concept put forward by the Poona college of

Pharmacy and at the same time I am sure that such bulletin will be highly beneficial for the

Principal’s address,

My Dear Alumni,

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that our college has decided to publish a

newsletter for sharing your views as well as that of the current students. I have the honor and

privilege being associated with Poona College of pharmacy since its inception and I am witness

to its forward journey to success. During the last few years, significant developments have taken

place, which have added new dimensions to the profile of the college. You may be eager to know

more about your alma matter and we are also eager to know more about you.

Let me now report few things about our college, to refresh your memories, as well as to

inform you about the development of the college. This college known as Bharati vidyapeeth’s

Poona College of Pharmacy, was established in 1981 by Hon’ble Dr. Patangrao Kadam,

Founder of Bharati Vidyapeeth. Till then there was no college imparting Pharmacy education

within the jurisdiction of Pune University. Dr. Patangrao Kadam cherished a dream of making

this college a throbbing centre of excellent pharmacy education and research. Under his able

guidance, my colleagues and I have done our best to fulfill the dream of our founder. This

college which pioneered pharmacy education in 1981 in this part of the country and was

affiliated to University of Pune, is the most reputed institute. In July, 2000, it was incorporated

under Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University as its constituent unit. This step of merging in

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University was particularly motivated because of the academic

autonomy, the college has established.

Our college offers B.Pharm., M.Pharm. and Ph.D. in all specialization of Pharmacy and

it is an approved college from both AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. Based

on the infrastructure, facilities and faculty of the college both National Accreditation Bodies viz.

NBA and NAAC have awarded the most coveted “A GRADE” to our college .Our college is also

the approved QIP centre of AICTE and we have AICTE approved Industry Institute Partnership

Cell running in our college. Our college is also ISO-9001-2008 Certified Institute. Recently our

college has started a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) programme from 2009-10. Our college is

the first and only college in Maharashtra State approved by PCI to conduct Pharm.D. (Six years

after 12th

Sci/ D.Pharm.) and Pharm.D. Post Baccalaureate (three years after B.Pharm.).

The idea behind starting PCPians' Bulletin is that you will come to know the recent

developments and the programs organized in our college. Moreover, the college will also come

to know your developments which will act as guide for the current students. The PCPians'

Bulletin will consist of: achievements by the alumni, students and the faculty of our college.

Thus I believe that this PCPians' Bulletin will provide us a platform for appreciating the

achievements of our faculty, students and Alumni. I am looking forward for your active

involvement in the newsletter through your articles, ideas in the same.

With Best regards.

Yours Truly,

Prof. K. R. Mahadik, Dean, Pharmaceutical Sciences

Principal, Poona College of Pharmacy Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University

President’s Address

Dear Friends

Alumni meet, a thrilling event, is always a moment of happiness and it is peak of

recollection of golden memories of college days. No other satisfaction can be comparable to

sharing of our achievements with beloved teachers and friends. I am proud to announce that I

was a student of the first batch of Poona College of Pharmacy way back in the year 1984. Ever

since the flock of PCPians has been increasing on and on. PCPians have carved a niche for

themselves in every corner of the world. It would be wonderful to know about the achievements

of our old friends and foster new ties as well. I am also pleased to inform that the college is

publishing ‘PCPians' Bulletin’ for its students and alumni. I appreciate this splendid step by our

college as it would further strengthen our bond. It would keep us aware of the transformations

and several developments of the college. Every issue would be dedicated to the achievements of

our alumni members. It would then be possible to interact with batchmates and keep abreast of

the happenings in our college. Through this PCPians' Bulletin the senior PCPians, abound in

proficiency and ideas are expected to impart the same to their juniors. Your valuable

experiences and ideas are welcome. We anticipate cent per cent contribution from the

magnificent Alumni towards PCPians' Bulletin.

Please spread the word to friends as we are all set to go…to the Alumni Meet for quality and fun

time.

Be a part of the PCPians' Bulletin...to reminisce, to network, to get updated, to get rejuvenated

and to reconnect.

Yours Truly, Shridhar Joshi
