The importance of the production companies:The production has great importance as it is responsible for; fund raising, budgeting, scheduling and scripting for a film. They must find a suitable director and casting for the film. Also they are tasked with supplies of resources for the the whole production and screen. The company is key for the responsibility of; post production, distribution and marketing of a film. In addition, they must respond to any problem that occurs: if a set has been damaged; they must try and resolve any problems.

The difference between a major and an independent production company:Major companies focus on the revenue of the sales their film completes. the main priority is to promote the film and to make money out of it. Companies like the 20th century try to target wider audiences to increase potential sale like with the movie X-men.

Independant companies target certain audiences within in a certain niche which make movies a ‘one off’. The sale of the movie is guaranteed and companies like Tica production target audiences with a sense of humour to create the comedy movie: ‘ Nice guys finish last’.

These are example of production companies which sponsor thriller movies to help them become ‘ a hit’ and make them become successful and this is important as I chosen thriller for my opening.

MY PRODUCTION LOGO This production logo that I created is for my thriller based company. it uses many themes that I will include within my thriller opening scene. The logo is key for my opening scene; I’ve used colours: Red and Black as the main colours. These signify danger, violence and rage. This is important as these emphasize the key generics of a thriller movie. In addition, the font of the writing is very bold which makes it stand out and signifies the danger even further; especially with the dark colour and red outline. The word: ‘Grim’ links in with the Grim reaper which is a personification of death. Death is signified within a thriller and the hooded skeleton emphasizes death. The weapon: ‘Scythe’ connotes violence and anger. The background is used as a foreshadow as bad weather emphasizes bad callings; something bad will happen like something bad will happen within the movie. To the audience, this create a sense of fear as death comes to everyone; it's inescapable.
