PBS Student Leadership Team

Five members of our Student Leadership Team presented on September 25, 2014 at the Missouri Safe Schools & Colleges Conference at the Lake of the Ozarks. Our team was invited to present with students from the Fort Osage R-1 and Miller County R-3 School Districts. Students from each team shared out during Thursday's keynote with Dr. Scott Pollard.

Demographics: 87% White, 4% Hispanic, 2% Black, 7% other 50% free or reduced lunch eligible Faculty: 39 teachers, 2 instructional coaches, 2 counselors, 2 administrators

• 13 eighth graders

• 15 seventh graders

Students apply for PBS Leadership at the end of their 6th grade year.

• Meet weekly.

• Reward good behavior.

• Plan incentives and celebrations.

• Create and star in GRR videos.

• Give tours to students who are new to our school.

• GRR signs are posted all around the school to remind students of the expectations for each different setting.

• Hallways, Classrooms, Restrooms, Cafeteria, Gymnasium, Recovery Room

• ESMS does academic interventions four days a week.

• Social skills, bully prevention, and digital citizenship lessons are taught on Wednesdays.

• When the rest of the school is discussing social skills, bullying, and digital citizenship we are hard at work.

• Film videos

• Create advertising for upcoming incentives

• Brainstorm ideas for incentives

• We create videos that promote good behavior. These videos are uploaded to our school’s YouTube for all of the teachers to show their classes during Tiger Hour.

• We use iMovie to film and edit.
