Observation

i) Type of vein leaves

Monocotyledonous plants are usually parallel-veined while dicotyledonous plants are usually network-veined.

ii) Type of rootMonocotyledonous plants have fibrous roots while dicotyledonous plants have tap roots.

Discussion

i. State the similarity between monocotyledonous plants.

Monocotyledonous plants have one cotyledon, parallel-veined, three flower parts and fibrous roots.

ii. State the differences between monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants.

Dicotyledonous plants have two cotyledons and network-veined leaves while monocotyledonous plants only have one cotyledon and parallel-veined leaves.

iii. Explain the method used to classify the plants.

The plants are classified by their type of vein leaves.
