Activity Week 2019 Dear Parents/Caregivers, An activities period for students will be held at the end of Term 4 from Mon 16 th Dec - Wed 18 th Dec 2019. The aim of Activity Week is to provide an opportunity for students to broaden their educational and leisure experiences and to build positive relationships, in a less formal setting, with each other and their teachers. These opportunities are not always available in the usual school setting. Activity Week is a component of the school curriculum and students in all years are expected to participate. It is a requirement of the Department of Education that students MUST attend school every day. Students who DO NOT participate in an activity are required to be at school. Free activities will be run for students who do not wish to or are unable to take part in a paid option. Students are asked to select a 3-day bundle from the activity package outlined below. We will endeavour to place your child into their selection; however, you will appreciate this may not always be possible. The following criteria will be used to determine placement into an activity: - ● Signed permission slip returned with -Payment of the non-refundable deposit; ● Students with a large outstanding fees account balance may not be accepted into an activity requiring additional payment until outstanding fees are paid. ● The school year of the child Payment of a Non-refundable deposit of approximately one third of the total cost paid on the date below will secure their position in the activity. Dear Parents/Caregivers,

An activities period for students will be held at the end of Term 4 from Mon 16th Dec - Wed 18th Dec 2019.

Package One Day 1: Jamberoo Day 2: Movies/Mall walk Day 3: Picton Pools

Day 1: Jamberoo Park A fun, action packed day in the sun! The first day of this package involves all day at Jamberoo park, kicking off with swim test and receiving wrist bands for level of ability. Sun safety is a priority, so please Slip, Slap, Slop, Seek & Slide!!! It is imperative that students on this activity wear rashies or t-shirts so as not to damage their skin. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Students will be back in time to catch their afternoon buses.

Day 2: Movies/Mall Walk Students will either watch a movie then head to the mall for a spot of window shopping (or early Christmas shopping), or vice versa. Either way, students will be able to watch one of the latest PG movies to come out and to spend the remaining time strolling through the mall, checking out the latest fashions. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Students will be back in time to catch their afternoon buses.

Day 3: Picton Pools

Students will arrive at school in time for a 9.10 am leaving time. They will be accompanied down to the pool/basketball courts. Students must stay within the grounds until they are to be escorted back to school, they are free to go where the pool staff allow them to go-usually anywhere in the outdoor area, or the basketball court, and of course the canteen. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. The Slip, Slap, Slop, Seek & Slide applies at this venue too, please be sun safe.

Package Two Day 1: DFO-Day 2: Movies/Mall Walk-Day 3: Picton Pools

Day 1: DFO Students will travel by school bus to the DFO outlet in Homebush, where they will explore the awesomeness of the shopaholic’s paradise. Timing will be on the permission slip to follow. The whole area is open for exploration, and limitations will be only imagination, and possibly purse strings… Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Students will be back in time to catch their afternoon buses.

Package Three Day 1: Surf Safari, Day 2: Surf School, Day 3: Picton Pool Day 1: Illawarra Surf Academy

We live in an amazing part of the country, with many of Australia’s best beaches on our doorstep. The beach is a big part of life in Australia and it is imperative that our children can identify and deal with the unpredictable conditions of the ocean. Learning to surf is a fantastic confidence builder and brings with it a great sense of achievement, responsibility and self-confidence. Sun safety is a priority, so please Slip, Slap, Slop, Seek & Slide!!! Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Students will be back in time to catch their afternoon buses.

Day 2: Illawarra Surf Academy

Once all the learning is done, the students get to practice all they’ve learnt and will be able to catch waves the whole session. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Please be mindful of the ‘Slip, Slap, Slop, Seek, and Slide’-day two on the beach is always the worst for sun damage. Students will be home in time to catch their buses.

Day 3: Picton Pools Students will arrive at school in time for a 9.10 am leaving time. They will be accompanied down to the pool/basketball courts. Students must stay within the grounds until they are to be escorted back to school, they are free to go where the pool staff allow them to go-usually anywhere in the outdoor area, or the basketball court, and of course the canteen. Package Four Day 1: City Sights Day 2: Picton Sights Day 3: Picton Pools Day 1: Street Photography

Students will catch the train to the city and then wander around the city (with their Teacher Mr Jeffreys), using their cameras to capture the history of the Sydney. They will take a return trip on the train to Picton and walk up to the school in time to catch their afternoon buses. Students will need to have their OPAL cards with a minimum of $20 credit. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch.

Day 2: Street Photography Students will use the morning sessions to wander around Picton using their cameras to capture the essence of Picton on film. The afternoon will be spent learning how to develop their work at school. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch.

Day 3: Picton Pools Students will arrive at school in time for a 9.10 am leaving time. They will be accompanied down to the pool/basketball courts. Students must stay within the grounds until they are to be escorted back to school, they are free to go where the pool staff allow them to go-usually anywhere in the outdoor area, or the basketball court, and of course the canteen Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Package Five Day 1: Golf Day 2: Golf Day 3: Picton Pools Day 1: Golf Students will take the school bus to the golf course some excellent tuition,

followed by 9 holes of golf, under the competent guidance of Mr Reynolds and Mr Jones. Students will need to take appropriate sun care; Slip Slop Slap Slide and Seek. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Students will be back in time to catch their afternoon buses.

Day 2: Golf Hopefully students will have improved that much that they are able to produce several holes in one! They will take the bus again to the course, and this time they will demonstrate improved actions after listening so carefully

on Monday 😊 Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Students will return to school in time to catch their buses.

Day 3: Picton Pools Students will arrive at school in time for a 9.10 am leaving time. They will be accompanied down to the pool/basketball courts. Students must stay within the grounds until they are to be escorted back to school, they are free to go where the pool staff allow them to go-usually anywhere in the outdoor area, or the basketball court, and of course the canteen Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. Students will meet with Ms Gauci to determine which art or painting they are going to complete Monday. They will be given assignments to start and hopefully complete Tuesday. Some of the tasks will be art works to be completed around beautifying the school. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch.

Day 2: Painting/Art

Today students will complete their various assignments at school. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch.

Day 3: School Movies Students will come for a morning movie session. Bring their own popcorn (or buy from the canteen). Movies can only be rated G to PG due to the younger ages of the students. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch.

Package Seven

Day 1: Picton Pools Day 2: Picton Pools Day 3: Picton Pools

Day 1: Picton Pools

Students will arrive at school in time for a 9.10 am leaving time. They will be accompanied down to the pool/basketball courts. Students must stay within the grounds until they are to be escorted back to school, they are free to go where the pool staff allow them to go-usually anywhere in the outdoor area, or the basketball court, and of course the canteen. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch. The Slip, Slap, Slop, Seek & Slide applies at this venue too, please be sun safe.

Day 2: Picton Pools

Students will follow the procedure of Day 1, and of course remember the requirements for attendance, the Slip, Slap, Slop, Seek & Slide rules, and, to bring a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch.

Day 3: Picton Pools

Students will come for a morning movie session. Bring their own popcorn (or buy from the canteen). Movies can only be rated G to PG due to the younger ages of the students. Students will need a packed lunch, or money to buy lunch.
