PAWA  NEWS  RAH-E-HAQ KEY SHAHEED On Friday last Pakistan was again a victim of terrorism and forty lives  were lost. Among these precious lives we also lost Lieutenant Col. Manzoor Saeed, brother of our member Ajmal Saeed. The whole community is sad on this loss. While as Muslim we believe that a Shaheed never dies it is truly a difficult time for a family and every Pakistani shares the pain and grief that families are going through. The entir Pakistani community wherever they are stand with Pakistan Army in this critical time. A message has also been received from from Ms. Noor the Director General at Higher Edu cation Commission Pakistan. Noor Amna Malik   pl convey our heartfelt condolences to ajmal may Allah give him all the strength to  bear the loss. God bless col manzoor he is a real hero and Allah will bless him with  jannat inshaAllah! INTRODUCING FEHMULQURAN  ACADEMY  A number of parents have raised the issue that their children have not been able to finish Quran e Pak and some of the adults have also shown their willingness to go through the Quran e Pak again with some assistance. As we do not have our own venue it is difficult to arrange time and place convenient to all. With the advent of technology it is not difficult now and I am pleased to introduce to you Fehm-ul-Quran  Academy based in Rawalpindi Pakistan. A group of dedicated people are doing it round the cloc k using skype™ and teamviewer™. A s the holiday season is about to begin please take the opportunity of the service provided at your fingertips.  VOLUNTEER GRANTS SUBMISSION

 An application for a grant was submitted to the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services

and Indigenous Affairs. This has been approved and will assist us in purchasing a media projector and

a laminator.

LUMUN 2009

In 2008 Rida Ahmed participated in Model United Nations at Lahore University Of Management

Sciences as the first ever Australian Delegate and committed to the organisers that this year she will

bring a full delegation. We are pleased to announce that this year the Australian delegation at the

conference will now be represented by three delegates with Rida as the head of delegation. There is

EID UL  AZHA CELEBRATION

Twenty families were joined by university students at Mullaloo beach foreshore for a Barbecue cum

picnic on 6th December 2009. The lunch was followed by a friendly cricket match and distribution of the

current issue of Pak Awaaz from Melbourne.. The weather was perfect for the day after two continuous

hot days of summer. The day ended with Fateha and prayers for the departed souls.

LEADERSHIP IN MULTICULTURAL SERVICES

 A number of services and individuals have been acknowledged for their positive contribution to

multiculturalism in WA. As reported earlier Mr. Sadiq Bux was also one of the nominees and the

Minister did acknowledge that it was a difficult decision as all nominations were of high standards. The

Libraries Australia a free service has been switched off and is be replaced by Trove - one search ... a wealth

 of information. Trove is a new discovery service focused on Australia , Australians, and items found in

Australian collecting institutions. The URL for Trove is http://trove.nla.gov.au 

Records in Trove are a copy of the records in the Australian National Bibliographic Database (including the

Register of Australian Archives and Manuscripts, and Music Australia ), Picture Australia , Australian

Research Online, Australian Newspapers 1803-1954, PANDORA and Australia Dancing . Some external

data sources will also be available.

The web address http://librariesaustralia.nla.gov.au will provide access to the Libraries Australia enhanced

(subscription) service only. Non-subscribers who arrive at this page will be able to access Trove

directly, either by clicking on a hyperlink or entering their search terms in the Trove search box.
