The 2017-2018 WPOSC Board of Governors
THE WRIGHT WORD PAGE 3 AUGUST 2017
Dear WPOSC Members, This year we celebrate the 70th birthday of the USAF. The
WPOSC is proud to be marking the beginning of our 73rd year-
yes, the establishment of the WPOSC predates the formation of the
USAF! Whether you are a returning member, have just
arrived at Wright-Patt, or are returning to the base for another tour,
I am excited to invite you to join us in celebration of the 73rd year
of this wonderful group.
Our Board of Governors has been hard at work over the
summer, planning our events and activities, preparing for the
reopening of our amazing Thrift Shop, and ensuring that our club
will effectively serve our community through our welfare and scholarship programs. Our board members represent multiple
services and bring distinct levels of experience to the club. We are so lucky to have such a diverse group of people
representing our membership!
We hope that you can join us for our first event of the year. Our Welcome Coffee and Activities Sign Up will be taking
place in the Wright-Patt Club’s ballroom on Thursday, August 24th from 9:30-11:30am. This free event is open to all members
and potential members. Infants and children under the age of five are welcome. This event will highlight our activities and
volunteer opportunities—there is something for everyone! Remember, the WPOSC is open to Officers’ Spouses of all military
branches, as well as spouses of GS-9 civilians and above—so please invite your eligible friends and neighbors. We look for-
ward to seeing you all on August 24th.
Giving back to the community has been an integral part of our mission since the beginning, and our biggest community
effort is centered on our Base Thrift shop. Our thrift shop has been closed for some time due to HVAC upgrades, but is set to
reopen on Tuesday, August 8th. We are so excited to have our Thrift Shop open again! All proceeds from the Thrift Shop are
donated directly back into our community through scholarships and grants. If you are looking for a wonderful place to
Volunteer, look no further than the Thrift Shop! I welcome you to Wright-Patt and invite you to join us in our endeav-
ors. We look forward to a successful 73rd year filled with exciting programs, engaging activities, rewarding volun-
teer opportunities and lasting friendships.
THE WRIGHT WORD PAGE 4 AUGUST 2017
One OSC goal is to promote morale, goodwill, and fellowship among our membership through socials and special ac-tivities sure to appeal to a wide range of interests. However, we are always looking for new and fresh ideas; so if you
have a hobby or skill that others might like to try as well, make a suggestion to the Activities Chair (from list on page 2).
Unless otherwise stated, all groups meet in the OSC Activities Room, Building 95 (same building as the Thrift Shop).

Our daytime group meets on the

Training is painless and fun! You can train

areas you feel comfortable in. We guide
school groups ranging from 4th though 12th

The best part? The friendships we form
while doing something we love! We meet on
the fourth Thursday morning of every month
during the school year for education and train-

2017-2018 WPOSC Membership Renewal/Cancellation Greetings from your 2017-2018 Membership Chair!
We are now accepting membership applications and membership renewal forms for 2017-2018. Please complete the form below and return it with your membership payment. We are adding a few new pieces of information to our database, so please do not skip over these new questions! Be sure to review the current directory to make sure the information is correct. If not, please submit any additions or corrections below.
PLEASE NOTE: Those who make monthly OSC dues payments ($5.00) on their Club Card will only be charged for June, July & August ($15.00). On August 15, the new credit card company taking over will no longer offer this service to the WPOSC. You will need to pay your remaining balance ($45.00) to us by check or in cash. Although this was not our decision, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it causes.
We are again holding a drawing for those who pay their 2017-2018 membership dues ($60.00) in full and before the Activities Coffee on August 24th! The prize will be a $50.00 gift card of your choice. That’s almost like getting your dues back! If you’ve paid your June, July & August dues on your Club Card, you will need to pay your balance of $45.00 before the Coffee to be eligible for the drawing.
If you are PCS’ing or need to cancel your membership for other reasons, please check the appropriate box below and send in your form, or contact me via e-mail at [email protected].
Mail your $60.00 check made payable to WPOSC (or your $45.00 check, if switching over from monthly Club Card payments) and your completed renewal form below to:
WPOSC Membership P.O. Box 67 Fairborn, OH 45324
Thank you for your continued support in making the WPOSC one of the best OSCs in the nation!
