Naoya Hatakeyama

“Maquettes / Light #2602” 1995

Hatakeyama also photographs very accurate models of areas within built up cities. He frames them in a way that makes them look like the real thing. I don’t think Hatakeyama was intentionally looking for patterns but this gives me inspiration into possibly focusing on architecture. The windows in these photos have a very precise pattern which continue from top to bottom.

John Baldessari

John Baldessari, known for his pictures incorporating paint, created a series of photos called ‘Aligning: Balls’ This was a chronological documentation of a balloons travelling in the air.

I could take inspiration from this and take a series of photos in chronological or and pattern, or to create a pattern (which Baldessari also did).
