A society, under the banner of Shivnath Shikshan & Seva Samiti, committed to provide quality education in professional curriculum & services to Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and the adjoining States. Since existence CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Durg, an AICTE approved, NBA & NAAC accredited Engineering Institute affiliated to Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University, Bhilai is a Premier Center for Technical Education. The campus is spread over 33 acres in a lush green environment in the suburbs of the Twin Cities of Durg-Bhilai. The institute has acquired the IS0-9001-2008 certification for its Quality Management System in 2008. Offers seven undergraduate programmes Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, MechatronicsEngineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Information Technology. In Chhattisgarh State, CSIT is having the honor of introducing the curriculum of Mechatronics Engineering in 2009 within the first decade of its existence. C.S.I.T is located on Balod Road Shivaji Nagar near Kolihapuri, P.O. Pisegaon, Durg and approximately 2 km away from the National Highway 6 (Howrah –Mumbai route) on which Durg –Bhilai twin cities are situated . The CSIT campus is 5.5 km. away from Durg Bus Terminal and approx 8 KM from Durg Railway Junction which is well connected to the major cities of India by Rail. Mana airport situated Raipur is about 40 Kms far from the college.

About the Department:Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of CSIT was established in the year 2002 with intake of 60. The department is offering a 4-year undergraduate degree program in BE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering). The department has started post graduate programme, M Tech in Electrical Devices and Power System Engineering in 2015-16. Students acquire analytic and practical skills and hence can serve better in industrial, service and research organizational set-ups. The main aim of department is to produce Electrical and Electronics Engineers with dynamic well rounded personalities adaptable to ever increasing demands of emerging technologies involving analytical and practical skills. This course covers traditional areas like generation, distribution and transmission of electricity as well as new age applications in electronics, ranging from telecommunications to computers and micro processors. Post graduate course covers advancement in power system.The department has on its rolls, qualified and experienced teaching faculty. The department also has adequate skilled and self-motivated technical staff. State of the art infrastructure promotes a congenial academic environment to impart quality education. A well stocked library is available for frequent references. The faculty and the students continuously interact with the industries through Visits and training program. The department regularly organizes technical lectures by experts from industries and institutes on contemporary areas to bridge the gap between syllabi and current developments. The students of the department, under their association SAEEE, are involved in co-curricular and extracurricular activities to discover and explore their talents. Equal emphasis is given to Value education and Ethics.
