All Municipal Solid Waste is dumped
indoors. The facility is designed on
negative air pressure. All odors
remain inside and pass through the
air filtration process.
Shredding and Separation
The complete shredding, drying
and separation process is
completely enclosed and fully
automated.
There is NO human contact with
any waste, other than batteries.
This single stream recycling
process is the most advanced
system today.

After shredding, the waste is
placed into drying bunkers where it
is biologically dried for 5 to 7 days,
removing approximately 40% of
the moisture content.
This Herhof system has been
utilized throughout Europe for
over 10 years.

By utilizing the Enerkem
thermo-chemical
gasification process,
each processed ton, of
Municipal Solid Waste,
will be converted into
approximately 90 gallons
of high grade ethanol.

All water removed during the drying
and gasification process is than
filtered and reused in the cooling
system.
This water can also be used within
the fire protection system.
LARA Air Treatment Plant
All processed air will pass through
the LARA system. With this
process, the air passes through a
heat chamber of over 850 degrees
Celsius. At this point, any
impurities or odors are eliminated.
This process will meets all EPA air
quality control standards and has
been utilized and approved by all
European standards.

These silos are used to
store the ash produced
during the gasification
process.
This minimal bi-product is
stored in these silos and
than sold into the concrete
block market or taken to a
C&D landfill for disposal.
