MDS Periodontology

Hassan Maghaireh is the head of the scientific committee at The British Academy of Implant & restorative Dentistry (BAIRD). He completed five years training in various maxillofacial units in the UK, gaining his membership in the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh by Examination. He then gained a Clinical Masters degree in Implant Dentistry from the University of Manchester winning the best clinical presentation award in 2008. Dr.Maghaireh maintains a private aesthetic implant referral practice in Leeds, and also acts as a mentor and honorary clinical teacher in Implantology on the University of Manchester MSc Program.

Hassan published many clinical studies in peer reviewed international journal . He has special interest in immediate loading, peri-implant soft tissue management and managing aesthetic complications. He is also actively involved in the oral health group of the Cochrane collaboration, updating evidence based systematic reviews on various dental implants related topics. Hassan is on the editorial board for the European Journal of Oral Implantology and he is the editorial director of Smile Dental Journal. Dr.Maghaireh is a mentor for BAIRD, ADI, ITI, Straumann, Osstem, Neoss and other implant systems. He is the clinical director for The British Academy of Implant & Restorative Dentistry Implant courses in The UK, Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Croatia, Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The dual nature of his clinical & evidence based training makes Dr.Maghaireh a frequent author of dental literature, and a sought-after lecturer nationally and internationally.

Dr. Tsamis graduated dentistry in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2003.He continued his education at the same University in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where he specialized in Minor Oral Surgery for one year. After that he continued at the Department of Dentoalveolar Surgery – Implantology – Radiology for the next three years where he received his MDS.

His master’s research was in the use of the MRI on Guided Implant Surgery. He continued his education at New York University where he received his Diploma in Implantology and Oral Rehabilitation, in 2008. He is certified scientific instructor for many implant companies (3i, Zimmer, Bredent, BT-Lock, PalTop, ICX, C-Tech) and surgical techniques (ACTEON, Meisinger, Stoma, MIABE). He is the course director of the Continuing Dental Education Program in Implantology of New York University College of Dentistry in Greece. Dr. Tsamis is copartner and CFO of the Merimna Institute in Athens, Greece, the first Continuing Dental Education Center in the country. He is the Vice President of the Hellenic Association of Continuing Dental Education. He has a number of publication in dental journals and presentations in dental congresses in Greece and USA. His private practice is in Thessaloniki Greece, limited in Oral Surgery and Implantology

Graduate of the Dental School of A.U.Th., also a graduate of the MSc Program of the same school in Periodontology and Biology of Implants. Scientific consultant of the Hellenic Association of Continuous Dental Education. Participation in several conferences and seminars as a speaker and instructor in the Periodontology and Implantology field.

He works at Odondiatriki Merimna of Thessaloniki and his practice is limited in Periodontology , Implantology ,Plastic Surgery of the mouth area, as well as laser applications on reconstructive dentistry .

Dr. Nikolaos NAKASDDS ,CEO Merimna Institute

Dr. Nakas Nikolaos was born in Tirnavos, Larissa, Greece. He graduated dentistry in Aristotle Dental School, Thessaloniki, Greece in 1991.He graduated Advanced Educational Program in Implantology and Oral Rehabilitation at New York University College of Dentistry, Continuing Dental Education Program in 1994. He also attended the Advanced Educational Program in Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation at New York University College of Dentistry, Continuing Dental Education Program in 2007.

Dr. Nakas is the Greek Program Leader of all the continuing dental education programs in Greece by the New York University College of Dentistry Linhart Continuing dental education program since 1994. He is the Greek Program Leader of the CPD programs in Greece for the UCL Eastman Dental Institute, Continuing Professional Development, London, UK since 2008.

He is the founder and CEO of the Merimna Institute in Athens, Greece, the first Continuing Dental Education Center in country and, also, the President of the Hellenic Association of Continuing Dental Education. Dr. Naka’s private dental center in Athens, Greece, “Odontiatriki Merimna” is limited in implant surgery and Aesthetics.

THE CLINICAL PARTICIPATION COURSE

CLINICAL PARTICIPATION SESSIONSEvery participant will place 5 implants in patients and will assist for the other surgeries of his group under the supervision of the Merimna Institute faculty.

During all the clinical participation sessions all the necessary materials, instruments, implants, bone graft materials, membranes, sutures, surgical instruments, micromotors and other will be provided in FREE for every participant.
