Patient Summary: Allergies Editor

Description

The Allergies Editor is part of Vanderbilt’s effort to reduce the instances where staff have to enter the same data multiple times in different systems. The editor enables you to enter, update and view data on the patient’s allergies in a structured format. Data entered into the allergies editor will update (and be updated by) other global systems at Vanderbilt Medical Center which contain allergy information.

To update the allergy section of the Patient

Summary, click on “Update”.

If there are no known

allergies, click here.

To enter new allergy, click

“New”.

In the allergy box, enter allergen name, reaction and severity.

Click finish.

Save your work.

Once you have completed the changes, scroll to the top and

click “Send changes”.

Click here

To make changes to an existing allergy, click on the allergy name and make any necessary changes. You could also click

directly on the reaction or severity box to only change those fields.

To delete the allergy, click

the X and enter reason for deletion.

Then click save.
