Fr. Chuck and I, along with the staff, want to extend a blessing of

happiness and wholeness upon you and your family during this great Easter Season and beyond. Hopefully the journey we made during this Lent has led us to a renewed appreciation of Jesus’ great sacrifi ce of Himself for the forgiveness of our selfi shness and sin. The shedding of His blood washes away the sin that separates us and alienates us from God and one another. That’s why last Friday was “Good” Friday! Through Him we are made whole or given the opportunity to be whole. Through Him I am bonded with you in ways that go far beyond the relationship I have with my blood brother and three sisters. Our journey in this Eastertide is no longer as individuals. Our joy, our celebration, and our happiness now require expression

by us as a body because of the dying and rising of Jesus Christ. Let’s continue to express our appreciation for this unity and oneness that Jesus calls us to and creates among us by coming together in community to pray and worship, especially at Mass. We invite everyone to help our parish continue to be a full Easter community by gathering and participating in Mass each week.

It is in each celebration of Mass that we participate in the greatest event on this earth because we are one with Christ in His sacrifi ce, death and resurrection, and, as stated above, we are united with one another. If we live and practice the celebration of the Mass, our lives will be full of and characterized by the joyful Alleluias of Easter!

HAPPY EASTER! ~Fr. Ralph

MEN WHO COOK DINNER & AUCTION

If you were not able to participate during the Lenten season, our parish would like to help you “Rediscover Jesus” in the days following Easter. How much is the sheer busyness of your life preventing you from living the life God is calling you to live? Please accept our gift of a 40-day invitation to “Rediscover Jesus”. You’ll fi nd these purple books by author Matthew Kelly in the Gathering Place – please take one home to share with your family. Each day’s meditation includes a short reading, points to ponder, and a question to consider. Take some time during the upcoming Easter season to “Rediscover Jesus”.

“REDISCOVER JESUS”

Come join us next Sunday, April 3, after the 10:30 a.m. Mass, for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Children ages 0-12 are welcome to join in. Bring a basket or bag to collect eggs in, and

meet us in the Gathering Place right after Mass. ~Event presented by the Stewardship Committee

The “silent cookie baker” from St. Bruno has died. Phil Warnes baked 70 dozen cookies for St. Ben’s every month for years and years. Many of you have picked up the slack since he got sick – thank you for that. Is it possible some of you could bring a dozen cookies to his Funeral Luncheon at Noon on April 2 (in the Gym)? What an honor that would be for him!! If by chance we get an abundance of cookies, we will pack them off to St. Ben’s!!

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNER

If you weren’t able to join one of the weekly Lenten small group opportunities this year, hear from some of the participants about their experiences: • There are little ways to make a difference in our lives with Take 5. It opens your mind. • One can learn more from listening (to God) than talking. • Take 5 is not a penance, but a pleasure. • We’ve been sharing what we have learned with others. • Evangelization. • Expands your horizons. • Learning about the Mass through the videos and looking up the related scriptures as a group has helped me get more out of the Mass. • I learned so much when I went to the teaching Mass; Fr. Chuck’s explanations about history and prayers and the signifi cance of MY responses made me much more aware of what I am to bring to the altar when I come to Mass. Also, between both St. Paul and St. Bruno Parishes, nearly 800 “Rediscover Jesus” books were shared with our parishioners. Many people have told us how much they enjoyed the daily meditations and the questions to consider.

“BEST LENT EVER”

We prayed, fasted and gave alms—and now we celebrate! Our Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl ends in our own hearts, where Jesus reigns forever.

Let us rejoice in our risen Lord—and in the lives we’ve changed this Lent in Colombia, Laos, Rwanda, Honduras, Madagascar and all over the world! Don’t forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl!

HUNGERING FOR CELEBRATION

WHAT IS YOUR CATHOLIC IQ?The answer is a)

On the Second Sunday of Easter of the Jubilee Year of 2000, at the Mass

for the canonization of St. Faustina Kowalska, Pope John

Paul II proclaimed to the world that “from now on throughout the Church this Sunday will be called Divine Mercy Sunday”.

Today, as we celebrate the feast of Easter, we fi nd the challenge of also seeing and believing the resurrection that comes through our own lives of self-sacrifi ce, which brings new life to others.

In the month of March, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to help the poor celebrate the joy of Easter, by assisting many families, providing money for food, rent, and utilities. Thank You!
