OFFERTORY ANTHEM “O Holy Night” Adolphe Adam

O holy night! the stars are brightly shining, Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth; With glowing hearts by his cradle we stand;Long lay the world in sin and error pining, So, led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,Till he appear'd, and the soul felt its worth. Here came the wise men from the Orient land.A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger,For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn. In all our trials born to be our friend;Fall on your knees! oh hear the angel voices! He knows our need, to our weakness no stranger,O night divine! O night when Christ was born. Behold your King! before the lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love and His Gospel is Peace.Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother,And in His name all oppression shall cease.Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,Let all within us praise His Holy name.Christ is the Lord, then ever praise we,His pow'r and glory evermore proclaim.

A CHRISTMAS LITANY Blessings to all who find Christmas in the Christmas star.

May their lives ever reflect its light and beauty.Blessings on those who discover Christmas in the age-old story of a child born in a stable and laid in a manger.

To them a little child will always mean hope and promise in a troubled world.Blessings on those who uncover Christmas in the joy of gifts given to others.

They shall share the gladness and joy of the shepherds and magi.Blessings on those who encounter Christmas in the message of Jesus of Nazareth.

May they ever strive to bring peace on earth and good will to others.God creates peace within us.

Let us claim it.God yearns for peace between us.

Let us share it.May the peace of God be with you.
