Hajj Awareness Day

The teachers had a chance to put their feet up and let the students take lead on Hajj Awareness Day. Students of year 8 and 9 delivered sessions relating to the history of Hajj, what it means and other aspects of

Hajj. The year 7 students followed the older years to get a feel for how spirituality days’

work and to get to know the older years better.

Eid Party- Friday 2nd October 2015

After the Hajj Awareness day pupils had fun celebrating Eid in their form classes. Some forms even had had a pizza

party! Pupils wore non uniform today to celebrate Eid and to raise money for McMillan Cancer Trust

Open Evening

On Tuesday 7th October we held an open day for year potential students to come and see and learn more about our school. We hope they left with a very positive image of

our school. Our student volunteers did an absolutely fantastic job of talking to the year 6 girls and their parents about the school, our environment, showing them around and

making them feel comfortable and welcomed.

Big Society Day

On our first Big Society Day, students enjoyed a collapsed timetable with activities from a Mandarin workshop to

football skills. Students also had a chance to broaden their understanding of other faiths by visiting the local Sikh and

Hindu temple. The day was a huge success!

McMillan Coffee Afternoon Friday 2nd October was a very busy day at school

indeed! Students had brought in cakes for the Humanities club to sell at the cake bake sale after

school. Parents came in to enjoy a relaxing brew with a nice bite to eat. The total amount raised for

McMillan Cancer Trust was a whopping £370.00.

Key Messages

Regular attendance at school is important in promoting social development and enabling students to keep up to date with the workload.

Whilst attendance is good overall, we are concerned about the attendance of several students.

As we approach the cold winter days, we ask parents to ensure their daughters are sent into school with a black coat and dressed appropriately for the weather.

Please ensure your daughter is well equipped according to the school equipment policy.

Well done to all those who have already collected some merits. Keep collecting them as there will be a special merit reward at the end of each term and for all those who achieve 100% attendance. Also, please ensure to keep a log of all the hours spent in volunteering as they will also be recognised.

Half Term Holiday- school closes this Friday 23rd Oct and re opens on Monday 2nd November at 8:15am.

We hope you have a happy and restful holiday! -from all staff at Eden.
