Today we’re going to talk about the

PAST CONTINUOUS

So what are we going to talk about today?

And what is it?

Affermative form:Subject+was/were+ing form

Negative form:Subject+wasn’t/weren’t+ing form

Interrogative form:

Was + I/he/she/it + -ing form

Were + you/we/they + -ing form

Short answers:

Yes/No + I/he/she/it + was/wasn’t

Yes/No + You/we/they + were/weren’t

We use it for:-Actions that were happening in certain moment of the past-Two actions that were happening at the same time in the past

… and for:-Temporary situations in the past-Actions that continued for a certain moment in the past

I was having a battle when team rocket stole our pokèmon

I was flying around Satan City when I saw Goku.

And now let’s talk about the past perfect simple

W-what is the past perfect

then?

Affermative form:Subject+had+past participle

Negative form:Subject+had/hadn’t+past participle

Interrogative form:Had+subject+past participle

Short answers:Yes+hadNo+hadn’t

We use it for actions that happened before other actions in the past

He started reading a new book because he had finished the one he was reading.

I saved the world after I had fought an epic battle
