    Point out to students that s is the contraction and is the long form.

    Exercise 5 This is a review of subject pronouns. 1c 2e 3a 4b 5d Exercise 6 This exercise lets students practice the correct forms of be by filling them in to complete a conversation. They could practice the conversation in groups of three afterwards. is (s) am is are are are 'm is is not (isn't) is ('s) are ('re) is ('s) Exercise 7 This activity helps students practice word order in statements and questions. A: Who are those people? B: They are Bart and Sarah. They are new students. A: Where are they from? B: Bart is from Canada. Sarah is Australian. A: Are they friends? B: Yes, they are. They are my friends too. Exercise 8 This pair work practice gives students the opportunity to use the forms of be in a communicative situation. They use the address book entry form to interview two of their classmates. Brainstorm the questions they will need to use before beginning the activity: What's your last name? How do you spell it? What's your first name? What's your phone number? What's your email address? Note: @ is read: at; . is dot: [email protected] is read englishclass at email dot com. In the second part, students tell a different person about the classmates they interviewed. E.g: His name is Alberto. His last name is Vazquez. His phone number is 345-4958 and his email address is avazquez at gmail dot com.
