Details

Community program designed to expose high school students in the Jacksonville community to the new financial realities of the world. With an increasing number of countries around the globe becoming economically viable, it is imperative that the children of our country become more savvy and responsible for their financial well-being.

The Jaguars will work with Merrill Lynch in creating an Investment based program that encourages teenagers to learn the value of asset growth and management. More importantly, these children can learn the skills necessary to develop the foundation for personal and professional success in a fun-filled environment that combines financial challenge with team based events and prizes!

Teens who are part of the program will be invited to a series of 3 classes that teach the basics of investing, in addition to having special guests (including current and former players) speak about their successes and the perils of bad wealth management.

An investment contest will be created that provides each participant with a list of stocks that they can choose from. They will then manage their own portfolio for a designated time period. At the end of the contest whichever teen has achieved the highest rate of return/profit increase will win a designated team prize. Awards can be handed out for a variety of accomplishments, will all the prizes being team-related.
