The mission of the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation is to fund medical research so a cure can be found in time for children battling Sanfilippo today and for those born with it tomorrow.
Sanfilippo Syndrome (also known as Mucopolysacchridosis III or MPSIII) is a rare, genetic condition where babies are born seemingly healthy but progressive damage to the brain and central nervous system result in gradual degeneration of all function and early death. It is referred to as a childhood disease because most patients rarely reach adulthood. There is currently no treatment or cure.
But there is
HOPEThere has been significant clinical progress in recent years and an effective treatment is within our reach. The Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation funds critical projects that are focused on halting disease progression, repairing damage caused by the condition and improving the quality of life for children suffering from the condition.
Your business could be helping save the lives of these and other Australian children...
Who are the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation?
Where will the funds raised go?Funds raised through this year's SF Super Series will directly fund 3 research projects as part of the Sanfilippo Children's Foundation's research funding program.
These projects will:
Investigate targeting the immune system as a treatment approach for Sanfilippo at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI)
Search existing drugs that could be re-purposed for Sanfilippo at SAHMRI, Adelaide's Women's and Children's Hospital and University of Adelaide
Improve the effectiveness of gene and enzyme replacement therapies at the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine in Italy.

What is the SF Super Series?
• The SF Super Series is a campaign that raises critical awareness and funds vital research for the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation.
• Our approach is to partner with unique sporting events and recruit participants to join the SF Super Series team.
• This year we have a series of Flagship Events and a Choose Your Own Event format.
• The Flagship Events are hosted by our partners who take care of all our logistics allowing us to focus on providing an enhanced experience and added value for our participants and sponsors in the lead up to the event and on the event weekend.
• We recognise that not everyone can participate in our Flagship Events so
this year we’re giving our supporters the chance to participate in any event of their choice whilst fundraising for our cause...and wearing our SF Super Series merchandise of course!
• We create training programs and build a special training community among our participants. In 2018 we had more than 350 participants across 6 events raising over $200,000. Entering our 5th year in 2019 we have our eyes firmly on the $1m fundraising mark for the SF Super Series!!
• We can’t wait to see our participants walking, running, riding and swimming all around Australia in support of this wonderful cause!
This year we’ve selected some new events and some trusty regulars. Each event offers a unique opportunity for a meaningful partnership and a connection with the local community. Here’s our line up so far...
SF Super Series 2019 events
NEWCASTLE to SYDNEY RUN

In our 5th year, JB and his team are taking
on a run from Newcastle to Sydney. The team
will be running between 16-34km each day along

sport where teams of two compete by
alternating between running and swimming
on a challenging course covering trails,
beaches, ocean, cliffs, rocks, and paths. 20 SwimRunners will be
participating as part of our SF Super
Series team.
BRISBANE TRAIL ULTRA
6 JulyThis brand new ultra trail run looks set for a huge impact in 2019. Some of our biggest supporters
are our trail runners and they’re always looking for a new challenge.
We’re anticipating ~100 solo and relay team

30km, 60km and 110km.Plus our marquee will be
front and centre at the South Bank

active with the whole family. Boasting the
largest team at the event in 2018 we have even bigger plans this year. We’re aiming for ~200 walkers and runners across the 3km, 6km and 13km distances.
And with prime positioning at the Finish Festival in Newport this

As well as the significant impact that your support will have, aligning with this campaign can deliver your business value on a number of fronts. It is an event that can engage your staff (both socially and physically), expose your brand, help address your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) requirements and help you to meet your market at one of our many social get togethers.
Brand ExposureThe campaign will be heavily promoted by the Sanfilippo Children’s Foundation with opportunity for your brand to be showcased via several mediums. This includes: • Opportunity for signage on shirts, at events and on website • Targeted communications to our database of more than 8,000 • Regular posts on our social media channels • Active engagement of mainstream media for coverage specific to this campaign • Brand exposure and promotion at satellite events, and during the race weekends
Value AlignmentThe SF Super Series offers the opportunity to support a highly regarded cause – medical research for a rare fatal childhood disease – and the campaign itself also promotes the values of a healthy active lifestyle. All participants will receive branded merchandise to illustrate their support of this charity event.
Staff / Customer EngagementInvolvement with this unique campaign provides an opportunity to engage directly with your community including staff, clients, suppliers and customers, as well as the broader community. Your support of this event can be promoted in your staff and customer newsletters to get them on board and active!
Addressing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) RequirementsWe understand that CSR is a key component of business strategy and operating philosophy for Australian businesses nowadays. In addition, charity partnerships have a higher ROI than any other marketing activities, according to London Benchmarking Group.
Access to new Customers We are seeking participation in these events from hundreds of Australian consumers, and they in turn will seek sponsorship from their family and friends. This is a potential new audience for exposure to your business’s products and services. Furthermore, you will present to this new audience, as a business who supports worthwhile causes.

u We had very encouraging growth in participation numbers in 2018 with 354 participants across 6 events (up 54% on 2017).
u We acheived a reach of over 96,000 across our social media posts and more than 10,300 visitors to the SF Super Series website.
u Our participants pushed themselves to their SUPER points both physically and mentally, many achieving physical goals they would have never dreamed.
u Our green shirts and ‘giant heads’ stood out at all events, our energy and sense of community was infectious and our camaraderie was second to none.
Partner Exposure in 2018
THANKS TO THE GENEROSITY AND SUPPORT OF ALL OUR PARTNERS, THE SF SUPER SERIES 2018 WAS AN INCREDIBLE SUCCESS
In addition to our main events, a series of satellite fundraising
events contributed to our fundraising tally, raised awareness of our cause and provided further opportunity for brand exposure
for our partners. Bunnings BBQs, Cake stalls, Soccer Gala Days,
Trivia Nights & Golf Days were a huge success and
will continue in 2019.
