* The RubberDucks welcomed over 340,000 fans in 2017 to Canal Park for 70 fun-filled regular season games. An additional 35,000+ people visited Canal Park for non-RubberDucks game events, including Canal Park’s first concert that benefitted Akron Children’s Hospital.

* The RubberDucks averaged over 5,000 fans per game for the fourth consecutive season, as well as finished sixth in the Eastern League in overall attendance in 2017.

* * The Indians had some incredible prospects on the RubberDucks including 3 of their top 5 prospects – catcher Francisco Mejia, first baseman Bobby Bradley and short stop Yu-Chen Chang. The Indians also sent a few players to Akron on rehab assignments, including second baseman Jason Kipnis, pitchers Danny Salazar and Corey Kluber, and outfielder Lonnie Chisenhall.

ONGOING RUBBERDUCKSCOMMUNITY INITIATIVES INCLUDE:* Corporate Care Program: The Akron RubberDucks Corporate Care Program is designed to assist children in need while also cultivating relationships with local businesses and organizations. Both involved-parties share a mutually-motivated goal of assisting and supporting the youth of northeast Ohio and primarily the Akron-Canton area.* Charity Begins at Home Program: Each Monday home game during the Akron RubberDucks season is a Charity Begins at Home night. Each Monday the RubberDucks team up with a local non-profit organization to raise funds and awareness for their cause.* * Helping Hands Program: The Akron RubberDucks Helping Hands program consists of various volunteer work that the RubberDucks' front oce sta takes an active role in throughout the season and o-season.

When the Akron RubberDucks were established, the team had a goal of being more than just a baseball team; the organization wanted to become a strong, active, contributing member of the community. The RubberDucks have helped hundreds of organizations raise thousands of dollars within their communittheir community, including a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Summit County that has raised more than $120,000 in five years through our in-game 50/50 rae. The RubbberDucks have also worked to turn Canal Park into a community asset with the ballpark playing host to numerous non-baseball events such as hosting the Aksuch as hosting the Akron Marathon and helping to create and host the Leadership On Main speaker series with Leadership Akron.
