Chronic kidney disease is serious and so are we! The National Kidney Foundation is the lead-

ing organization in the U.S. dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney

disease for hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals, millions of patients and their

ABOUT THE NKF

ABOUT CAMP CHIMER

Camp ChiMer was started in 1986 by Dr. Brad Warady, dedicated volunteers, and health care

professionals, all of whom shared a common goal— to create an opportunity for children with

end stage renal disease to participate in a camping experience and develop peer relation-

ships, regardless of their medical needs.

Camp ChiMer is a 5-day overnight summer camp for children ages 9 to 18 who are undergo-

ing peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, or have had a renal transplant. At Camp ChiMer, camp-

ers will have the opportunity to participate in exciting activities that provide memories that

last a life-time.

The National Kidney Foundation, with medical support from Children's Mercy Hospital, is ex-

cited to host this fun and unique summer camp experience. Camp ChiMer is located in a

beautiful 100-acre privately owned facility in Kansas City, Missouri.
