Seven teachers receive the Golden Apple Excellence in Teaching Award yearly at our Tribute Luncheon. We honor educators who demonstrate classroom excellence, professional commitment, and a desire to elevate education in New Mexico. Recognition rotates among high school, middle school, and elementary school teachers in a three-year cycle.

Generous Sponsors Help Us Inspire TeachersProfessional Development$5,000-$20,000Golden Apple Foundation provides opportunities for teacher professional development periodically throughout the year. Keynote speakers and presenters from across the United States have been invited to present and share their expertise, helping to broaden the perspectives for educators in New Mexico. During COVID, Golden Apple shifted gears and began offering virtual professional development. The result has been the opportunity to better support educators in every part of the state.

Fellow Sponsorship$10,000Sponsorship for one teacher Fellow of our seven teacher Fellows each year. Each Fellow teacher gets $5,500 in grants and stipends to further their education. See their stories on our website.

Teacher Grants & Scholarships$100-20,000Through the years, the Golden Apple Foundation of New Mexico has proudly provided scholarships and grants to teachers, supporting their innovative ideas and lessons. Grants have provided support to create new and innovative science experiments, help students to explore music from other countries, and broaden the learning experience. The grants and scholarships are possible through the generosity of our Golden Apple partners and donors.
