This guide will help you take better photos of your dishes to help attract hungry customers to your restaurant.
Research shows that having menu photos helps customers understand more about the ingredients and care that goes into preparing their food.

Photos You Can Send InMenu header & SERP photoThis appears on the search results page and at the top of your restaurant listing. It should show at least three or more dishes from your menu.

✅ Show a range of your dishes (ideally three or more) in landscape orientation
✅ Take the photo from above or at a 45 degree angle
✅ Make sure the food is well lit, neatly presented with no drips and spills
✅ You can use takeaway containers or plates
✅ The photo will display differently on the app, website and search results page so space the dishes across the photo

Menu Header Photos: Things To Avoid
❌ Don’t use single dish photos as your menu header photo – it must show more than one dish
❌ Please don’t send photos with people/hands or a photo of your restaurant storefront
❌ No illustrations/ drawings/ graphics/ screenshots
❌ Avoid blurry photos – make sure the whole photo is in focus
❌ No logos, text or watermarks over the photo
❌ Don’t use stock photos - only use photos of your food

✅ At least 2400w x 1600h pixels

✅ Take photos of as many items on your menu as you like, including side dishes, drinks and sauces if they are available to buy on your menu

❌ Don’t include multiple dishes - only show one at a time
❌ It must not include any extra accompaniments like chips, rice or dips unless they’re sold as part of the dish
❌ No people/hands/storefronts/cutlery
❌ No logos or text over the photo
❌ No stock photos - only use photos you own the copyright for

✅ Landscape orientation (not portrait or square)
✅ At least 1024 x 768 pixels (8 x 6 inches)
✅ Use a 4:3 format.

✅ All photos must be in .jpg or .png format
✅ Between 1MB - 10MB file size
✅ It will help if you save your photo with the name of the ` dish, exactly as it appears on your menu e.g. LargeChickenNuggetsAndChips

How To Send Your Photos
1 Save your photos to your camera roll or your computer● Make sure they’re the right size and format
2 Log in to the Photo Uploader ● You can log in using your Partner Centre login details: https://partner.menulog.com.au/photo-uploader
3 Upload your photos● You can upload one menu header photo and up to 100 dish photos at a time● We’ll check the photos and arrange for them to be uploaded
○ If your photo doesn’t meet our quality guidelines we’ll let you know why and ask you to send another one○ Dish photos will go live within one-three weeks. ○ Menu header photos will go live within 48 hours.
4 Keep your photos updated● If you add new dishes to your menu you can log in and upload new photos● If you want to replace a photo, log in and upload a new photo with the same dish name so we can replace it.
