Please describe how your cash deposits are prepared?
Two of the larger agencies that handle cash are Department of Revenue (DOR) and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV). Their responses are below:
DOR All coin and currency are placed in a Bank of America money envelope which the bank provides. It’s sealed and the amount enclosed is handwritten on the outside of the envelope along with the initials of the person that counted it. The cash envelope is placed on top of all other checks so the teller will see it and the deposit slip is filled out specifying how much of the deposit contains coin and how much contains currency.It is then rubber-banded or clipped together and placed in a locked bag for the courier to deliver.
DHSMV When cash deposits are made, bills are separated by denomination. Singles are counted in groups of $50, twenties ($20) in groups of $500 and secured with a rubber band. Highway Safety does not use cash straps.Most deposits do not include a lot of change. Highway Safety completes a deposit breakdown of currency for their records.
Would the Treasury be interested in receiving information about new solutions such as in-store safe?

The Department of Health (County Clinics), Department of Environmental Protection (State Parks), and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (Drivers License Offices) deposit the majority of cash and checks. See Attachment 1 of the RFP.
26. Will the State accept a correspondent bank located in Tallahassee that we have a partnership with as a substitute for the requirement that we must have a banking office in Tallahassee Florida?
A partnership does not meet our RFP requirement. As stated in Section 1.2 of the RFP “Proposals will be accepted only from individual Financial Institutions”. Additionally, the Department seeks to avoid the administrative complexity associated with interacting with multiple contractors.
The purpose of the requirement for having a banking office in Tallahassee, Florida is to facilitate state agencies in performing depository service functions. These services include the ability to make over-the-counter deposits that receive same day credit when deposited by the contracted

cut-off time. Other requirements include cash, coin, currency and customer service activities.
It is our understanding that correspondent banks cannot provide all of the required services and therefore does not meet the requirement of having a banking office in Tallahassee, Florida.
27. With the announcement of the first quarter 2010 closing of the Jacksonville and the Miami branches by the Federal Reserve; is this requirement still necessary?
The requirement set forth within Form 7 Minimum Requirements Confirmation, Statement 1 sub 3 is amended to read, “FinancialInstitution must maintain a clearing account at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta”.
