DNA Extraction

This laboratory was made for separate DNA from other waste

molecules of the cell. When we extract our DNA must be extracted

intact from the cell. The cells asigned to our group are the Cucumis

Sattivus plant. Plant cells has in their membrane a component that

animal cell doesn’t has, the cell wall, and if we are going to extract DNA

from this plant we have to break down this wall in addition to all other

membranes.

Well for the DNA extraction we begin with harvesting cells

from the Cucumis Sattivus leaves a disrupted the plant cell tissues. We

lysed cells, then remove the cellular debris, purified DNA, precipitated

DNA and finally determine the concentration of DNA using a

spectrophotometer.
