SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT

PARISH LENTEN PROGRAMME

The exposition of the Blessed Sacrament during Lent w ill end at 7.00pm/7.15pm.

Stations of the Cross every Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm.

Lenten Prayer Breakfast each Saturday until 4th April from 8.15am - 9.15am.

Lenten Reconciliation Service on Monday 30 th March at 7.30pm. Bishop Paul is unable to attend. Fr Michael and Fr Paul have been invited to assist. There will be confession afterwards.

Good Friday – There will be Stations of the Cross for children at 10.30am. After this is the Walk of Witness. The meeting point is the back of the Methodist Church on Ruskin Road. This travels through Car-shalton village. Father Anthony will be saying a prayer at the service.

Each week they feature a website which may be of interest to fellow Christians. Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving’ – the three pillars of Lent - is a free three-day online retreat from Dublin’s Dominican Priory Institute. This inspiring retreat can be done in your own time at any stage dur-ing Lent.

SUTTON DEANERY— DAY OF PRAYER & REFLECTION (For all Ministers and Parishioners)

On 21st March 2020, Fr Victor Darlington, parish priest of Camberwell and lecturer in New Testament at St John’s Seminary, Wonersh, will speak on the Gospel of Mark. The event will begin with Holy Mass at 9.30 am followed by coffee and will finish at 2.00 pm. The venue is Holy Family Church, Sutton Green, SM1 1QT. All are welcome!

Stations of the Cross: During Lent there w ill be Stations of the Cross at 7.30 pm each Wednesday and Friday. On Fridays the Stations will be led by Fr Anthony. On Wednesdays they will be led by a lay per-son. If you would like to volunteer to lead the Stations of the Cross on one or more Wednesdays, please sign on the list in the meeting area.

LENTEN PRAYER BREAKFASTS (8.15am - 9.15am) con-tinue each Saturday during Lent until 4th April. The format will include Praise and Worship, Opening Prayer, Scripture readings, silent meditation, Intercessions and a closing

LAST SUNDAY’s attendance was 254 and the Offertory (including Ash Wednesday) came to £640.10 shared between £374.65 in loose money and £265.45 in Gift Aid envelopes. The second collection for Poor Parishes came to a total of £268.25. Many thanks for your generosity.
