vicinity of Parnell St. And Davis Rd. Average of 28 free spaces during peak time at Suirside
car park Offset effect of loss of parking spaces on retailers by :
Increasing foot fall along corridor Encourage construction of new car parks in vicinity of town
centre. (Mary St. etc.) Proposed off-peak parking for loading bays
PARKING CONTINUED PARKING SURVEY METHOD
Parnell Street and Davis Road Surveys on five different days 15 min interval 4 hour period through out the day
PARKING SURVEY RESULTS Average parking on Parnell Street was 51 Peak parking on Parnell Street was 60 Average parking on Davis Road was 13 Peak parking on Davis Road was 21
PARKING SURVEY CONCLUSION Davis Road has adequate parking Parnell Street has excessive parking requirements Enhance pedestrian environment to encourage parking in car park
and walking into town increasing footfall along shopping area Use electronic Parking signs to encourage use of existing car parks
