Seated Massage

The Activity Center offers 15 minute seated massages to our seniors on a twice a month basis. The benefits of message are numerous and go well beyond the rejuvenated and refreshed feelings one encounters. The positive health implications include reduction in blood pressure, reduced stress, decreased heart rate, improved sleep, relieve of sore and tight muscles and an enhance immunity.

7th Annual Volunteer Fair

The Activity Centers annual Holiday Craft Bazaar was on Saturday, October 21st. The event feature 28 vendors marketing a variety of new, handcrafted, and commercial items from festively dressed booths. As in past years, a warm lunch consisting of chili dogs, chips, and soda was available to purchase from the Centers Special events committee and this meal has become a crowd favorite staple and tradition of this event. The Holiday Craft Bazaar is a great kick-off event to the Centers upcoming holiday season programs and is always a lot of fun for the Center, vendors, and our community. Furthermore, many Puyallup residents really look forward to this event each year because it’s a great t way to find that one-of-a-kind item or special gift for someone that cannot easily be found in our local stores.

Seattle Underground

On October 17th, the Activity Center provided a special 75-minute guided walking tour of one of Seattle’s most unusual and famous attractions, the “Seattle Underground”. During this excursion, our seniors strolled along with their personal guide through captivating subterranean storefronts and intriguing sidewalks entombs from when Seattle rebuilt on top of itself after the Great Fire of 1889. This educational walking tour provided an exclusive time-capsule view of Seattle’s very unique and incomparable buried city.

New Day Northwest with Margaret Larson

“New Day Northwest with Margaret Larson” has consistently been a popular trip offering of the Activity Center. As a result, two excursions to this local talk show was provided in October. What particularity interests our seniors to this program, is the show tends to focus on people, activities and other prosperities that makes the northwest a very interesting place as well as a

5

great area to reside. During the program, host Margaret Larson generally talks with various authors, musicians, health experts, celebrities and sports stars and our seniors get to experience first-hand as part of the studio audience!
