TheParkLiteTicketDispenserwasdesignedtomanagetheentrancelaneofaparkingarea.Thisfunctioncanbeperformedbytheequipmentindifferentways:• stand-alone• slavedtoanother“Master”unit• slavedtothe“ParkLite”managementsoftware.Theservicesofferedbythesystemdependonthetypeofmodeselected.Theunitcontrollingaccesstothegateinstand-alonemode,ortheunitconnectedtoa“Master”unit,canbeconfiguredandmanagedbya“PLprogrammingKeyboard”;withouttheneedforconnectiontoaPCandtotherelevantapplicationprogram.Thischaracteristicmakesitpossibletocreatesimple,econo-micsystems.Alternatively,theTicketDispensercanbeconnectedtoapersonalcomputer,onwhichtheParkLitesoftwarehasbeeninstalled.Thistypeofconnectionmakesitpossibletoexploitalltheservicesofferedbythesystem,thankstothesupportoftheparkingareamanagementprogram.

TheParkLiteTicketDispenserisavailableinthreeversions:• ParkLite TD• ParkLite TD-TAG • ParkLite TD-MAGAllmodelsareprovidedwiththeticketissuemodule,formanagingsingle-stayusers.Youcanchoosefrom6differenttypesofavailableticketlay-outs,sothattherequiredinfor-mationisprintedontheissuedticket.Twomodelshavebeencreatedshowingveryclearlythedateandtimeoftheuser’sentry,andfourmodelswhichindicatea22-characterbarcode,containingalltheinformationaboutthemomentwhenaccessisperformed.InadditiontotheessentialdatawhichtheTicketDispenserprintsontheticket,accordingtothechosenlay-out,upto4headerlinescanbepre-set(name,parkaddress,etc)and5linesofnotes(warnings,agreements,publicity,etc.),sothattheyareprintedbytheequipmentoneveryissuedticket.Theprintingunitconstructstheticket,takingthermalpaperfromaroll,andthentransformsitbymeansofthevariousdevicesitcontains(printinghead,cutter,expeller,controlelectronics).Thermalpaperrollsof80gr/sq.m,or140gr./sq.m.canbeused.TheTD’sticketissuingcapacityvariesaccordingtothetypeofpaperused.“ParkLite TD-TAG”hasareaderofpassiveproximitycards,whichdetectsmemory-storedcodesatafrequencyof125Khz.“ParkLite TD-MAG”hasamagneticcardreader,whichreadsmagneticbandscodedonaStandard2ISOtrack.TheTicketDispensercanbeconnectedtoaspecificintercomcontrolunit(optional),whichenablestheoperatortoremotelycommunicatewiththeusersituatedontheentrancelane.Theunitcanmanageanavailable/fullpanel(optional),tosignaltheavailabilityofacarspacetotheuser.Connectionwithtwomagneticloops,abletodetectthepre-senceandtransitdirectionofthevehicle,isobligatoryforallmodels.Theengagementanddisengagementofthesesensors,allowstheTicketDispensertoenabletheticketissue/cardreadingmodules,controlthecar’stravellingdirection,supplytheclosingcommandtothebeamanddothecounting.Thelocationoftheloops,incommonwiththeequipmentforcon-trollingaccessintheentrancelane,mustobservetothelettertheinstructionsinthefollowingchapters.TheTicketDispenserdirectlyopens/closesthebeamwithanimpulsivelogic,providingtheopen/closedcommand.Forthisreason,whencreatingentrygatesforvehicles,solelybeamswhichmanagethecarparklogicmustbeused.Thevehicles-onlylanesmustbeprovidedwithappropriatehorizontalandverticalsignsindicating“transitbypedestriansforbidden”.Likewise,ifthereareanypedestriancrossingsonthelanes,allthebeamsmustbemadesafeandsuitablewarningsignsmustbeinstalled.Seethecurrentlegalregula-tionsonthematter(inparticularstandards:EN12453andEN12455).Toavoiddamagetotransitingvehicles,thebarriersmustbeequippedwithasafetyoption,whichmakesitpossibletoconnectthe“vehiclepresent”signal,receivedfromthetransitloop,toavoidaccidentalclosure.Thischaracteristicmustbeenabledalsowhenphotocellsinstalledunderthebeamareused.

•TheentrancelanetoaparkingareamanagedbytheTicketDispensermustbeconstructedsothatthevehiclescomingfromdifferentdirectionscaneasilygetclosetothecolumn,toenabletheusertowithdrawtheticketorshowavalidtransitticketwithoutanydifficulty.
•Theequipmentmustbeinstalledonanisland15cm.aboveroadlevel.Ifthisisnotpossible,protectivestructuresmustbeinstalledaroundthebaseofthetwocolumns(TDandbarrier620)andtheTicketDispensermustberaised15cm.abovethelanepaving,sothatthedevicesforissuingandtreatingtheticketsforaccesstotheparkingareaarelocatedattherightheight.
•TheTicketDispenseroperatesonlyifthemagneticloopshavebeencorrectlyconnectedtoit.Infact,thecolumnwasde-signedtomanagealltheuseraccesstolanestages,exploitingthesetwoelements,whicharegenerallydefinedas:presenceloopandtransitloop.

Theconstructionanddeploymentoftheloopsisfundamentallyimportanttoensurethatthesystemfunctionscorrectly.Forthisreason,observetotheletteralltheinstructionsdescribedinthefollowingparagraphs:2.3 Making the Magnetic Loops2.7 Positioning the equipment.
•Thepowercablesandthecablesforconnectingtheequi-pmentintheparkingsystemmusthavethecharacteristicsindicatedinparagraph:3.2 Type of cables.
Furthermore,alltheinstructionsinparagraph“Generalsafetyrules”onpage3mustberespected,and,withreferencetothespecificelectricalpreparations,asdescribedinparagraph:3.1 Safety rules.
•TheTicketDispenserwasdesignedtomanageautomaticallytheentryofvehiclestoaparkingarea.Therefore,transitbypedestriansmustbeforbiddenintheareareservedfortransitofvehicles.Moreover,appropriatesignsprohibitingtransitbypedestriansmustbeinstalled.Whereitisnotpossibletohaveanentrance/exitgatereservedexclusivelyforpedestrians,thecurrentlegalregulationsonthesubjectmustbeabsolutelyobserved;(inparticularstandards:EN12453andEN12445)
•Thelanemustnotallowaccessbytwoormorevehiclessidebyside.Forthisreason,thewidthofthelanemustbeappro-priatelysized,accordingtothetypeofvehiclegenerallyused.
•Sufficientspacemustbeprovidedforeveryequipmentoftheparkingsystem,sothatallthenecessaryinstallationandmaintenanceoperationscanbesmoothlycarriedout.
•TheA/Fpanelmustbeinstalledinapointvisibletouserscomingfromvariousdirections.
•Appropriatesigns(notsuppliedbyFAAC),indicatingthetariffsandthecarparkrulesmustbevisiblyshownontheentrancelanetothecarpark.

NB.: AlltheequipmentwhichcanbeusedintheParkLiteparkingsystem,weredesignedandtestedbyFAAC,inobservanceofthepointsmentionedabove.Inordertoavoidanykindofunforeseenbehaviour,alltherulesshowninthismanualmustbeobserved.

2.3.2 CONSTRUCTION
Theshapeoftheloopsmustbe‘rectangular’.Thecornersmustbecutat45°topreventthecablebreaking,duetothevibrationsoftransitingvehiclesorpossiblesettlingoftheroadpaving.
Therearetwomethodsformakingthem:•Layasinglesingle-polecablewithacrosssectionof1.5mm2,withdoubleinsulation,directlyinachasemadeintheexistingroadpaving.•FirstconstructacableductinPVCofthenecessaryshape,insertasingle-polesingle-insulationcablewithacross-sectionof1.5mm2insideit,andthenlaytheloopthusconstructedinsidethechase.NB.:inbothcases,respecttherequirementsspecifiedinpoint2.3.1.

Thewindingswhichmustbemadeinordertoconstructtheloopcorrectly,dependonthedimensionoftheperimeter.ThedimensionsoftheloopstobelaidonthelanemanagedbytheTicketDispenser,showninthefollowingchapters,callstrictlyfortheconstructionof4 windings.Infact,thesystemdetectsallthetransitstagesofthevehiclesontheentrancelane,makinguseofthesedevices.Asaresult,fewerthanspecifiedwindingswillnotmaketheequipment,assignedtocontrolthelane,operatecorrectly.NB.:iftherearemetalnetsunderthepaving(seethedistanceofthemetalgrillespreviouslyreferredto),weadviseyoutoadd2windingstothe4obligatorywindings.

5. SETTING OF COMPONENTS 5.1 DETECTOR CONFIGURATION TheParkLiteTicketDispenserissuppliedwiththebuilt-inDP2two-channeldetector.Thisdeviceisfittedintheinterfaceboardanddetectsvehiclestransitingontheentrancelane.Thefollowingimageshowstheboard’sessentialcomponents:

Thedetectorcanbesetbyusingthe8dip-switcheslocatedatthesideofthecontrolboard.Varyingthepositionofeachdip-switchenablesyoutochangetheoperationalcharacteristicsofthiscomponent.Thefollowingstepsshowalltheconfigurationsthatcanbeperformed.Inadditiontothis,thetablesshowtherecommendedvalueinblue.
SensitivityForeachchannel,youcanchangetheinductivitysensitivenesswhichavehiclemustvarytoactivatetherelevantoutputofthedetector.Thisparameterisadjustedseparatelyforeachchannel,withtheaidoftwodip-switches
FrequencyTheoperatingfrequencyofthedetectorcanbeconfiguredontwolevels,bydip-switches4and8,separatelyforeachchannel.Itisessentialtodifferentiatethefrequencyamongthechannelsofthedetectorswhichcommandtheloopsoftwoadjacentlanes,inordertoavoidanykindofnoise.
Presence time and resetDip-switches3and7enableyoutosetacontinuousdetectiontimeof5minutes,afterwhicharesetandaconsequentself-setareperformedautomatically.Thistypeofsettingisnormallynotrecommendedforparkingsystems,becausethecarsmaystayontheloopsforsometime,e.g.waitingforavehicletocomeoutwhentheareaisfull.

6. CONTROL UNIT 6.1 P.LITE COBRA BOARD TheTicketDispenserelectroniccontrolunitisdefinedas:Co-bra P.Lite.Ithasspecificallycreatedfirmwareforcomman-dingalldeviceswhichneedtobecontrolledontheentrancelanetotheparkingarea.Theboardmanagessomeprocessesinafullyindependentway,whereasotherscanbesubordinatedthroughtheboardtotheParkLitemanagementsoftware.WemustunderscorethefactthateveryequipmentfortreatingticketsandcardsintheParkLitesystemusesthistypeofunit.Thevariousdevicesofthesystem(TicketDispenser,TicketReader,CashDesk,etc)makeuseofthiscontrolboardwiththesamefirmware.Thefunctiontowhichtheequipmentisaddressed,isacquiredbyinsertingajumper,locatedontheboard’sCN1connector.
WhenevertheTicketDispenserispoweredup,theCobraP.Litecontrolunitcontrolsthefunctiontowhichitisdelega-ted,throughthejumperfittedontheCN1connector,anditsetsitselftomanageallthespecifieddevicesforthatuse.Thereforethisjumpermustbecorrectlyfitted.Obviously,theTicketDispenserissuppliedwiththejumperalreadysetintherightposition.Fig.19showsallthesettingswhichcanbecarriedoutonthemanagementunit.Thisfigureisincludedinordertobeused,ifthisboardhastobereplacedontheequipment.
6.3 RS485 LINE TERMINATIONOntheCobraP.Liteboard,therearetwoconnectorswhichmakeitpossibletofita120OhmterminationresistorontheRS485datatransmissionline.Weshouldstressthatthisresistormustbefittedonlyiftheequipmentislocatedononeoftheendsofthelinesection.UsetheCN8connectortoinserttheresistoriftheunitisaslavewithrespecttotheControllerPCorwithrespecttoaMasterTD.UsetheCN6connectortoinserttheresistoronthesub-networkontheMasterunitwhenotherSlaveTDsarecon-nectedtoit.Figure19showstheinsertionofthischaracteristic.

7. PROGRAMMING KEYBOARD 7.1 KEYBOARD CHARACTERISTICS
The “PL programming Keyboard” is used to execute theconfiguration of the unitwhich operates independently (i.e.without connection to a personal computer with the ParkLitemanagementsoftware)orsubordinatelytoanotherMasterTicketDispenser.Thedeviceissuppliedwithacable,whichisusedforconnectiontotheTicketDispenser.Theconnectionmustbemadeonthefemale15-pinconnector,definedasCN8,whichislocatedontheinterfaceboardoftheTicketDispenser;(seefig.14onpage13ofthismanual).IMPORTANT:allkeyboardconnectionanddisconnectionoperationsmustbemadewhentheTicketDispenserisnotpowered.Failuretoobservethisprecautioncandamagethedevicepermanently.
7.2 DISPLAY OF INFORMATION Inthestandardusemode(i.e.whentheunitisnotbeingprogrammed),thekeyboarddisplayshowsasetofinformationitemswhichcanbeexploitedbytheoperatortocontrolcorrectoperationofthesystem.Thesemessagescanbesubdividedessentiallyintothreecategories:•Vehiclepresencemanagement..•Informationwhichcanberetrievedwiththekeyboard’spush-buttons.•Displayofevents.
7.2.1 VEHICLE PRESENCE MANAGEMENT
