I started at this school 3 years ago. There had been 150 exclusions the previous year and whilst sharing 80 donuts with you all – I could feel eye brows were lifted as I said I would turn this school into the best school in the world! Well thanks to my team of outstanding, brilliant staff: from the teachers to the TA’s, to the office staff, to the cleaners and the lunchtime staff …. We DID IT. We have become the first Local Authority School in 2 years to gain the prestigious OUTSTANDING grade from Ofsted. Making us indeed one of the few schools in the entire country to get recognised in such a way. The children are amazing; the children are Parklands! They OUTSTANDING! OUTSTANDING! OUTSTANDING! Thank you for sharing our brilliant Community Steam Day on Tuesday. They didn’t find any low level disruption anywhere in school. There were four inspectors and they were everywhere over the two days – the children of Parklands were described as confident, polite and exceptionally friendly. I am so proud, so proud indeed. So now that we are OUTSTANDING does that mean that I will be off to pastures new. Quite simply No Way! We have so much more to do! Ofsted commented on the views of Parents as being the most positive that they had ever heard.
