Life Skills

Throughout term 1 we have been participating in a Life Skills program. The aim of the program is to strengthen the human intelligence and mental health of young people and their communities. The program equips students, parents and teachers with tools to develop the social, emotional and physical capabilities needed to thrive today and in the future.

School participation is important as it maximises life opportunities for children and young people by providing them with education and support networks. Schools help people to develop important sills, knowledge and values which set them up for further learning and participation in their community.

Responses from S07 students to 'Took the Children Away'' by Archie Roach Here are some of the wonderful responses from students in S07 to a

recent reading activity. Phones to the Office Please We understand some parents of older children wish for their child to have access to a mobile phone for communication from school to home. If parents wish for their child to have a mobile phone at school, we require that students hand their mobile phone in to the office on arrival at school and collect it at the end of the day. Mobile phones must not be left in school bags or carried by students whilst at school. Students are requested not to bring any other form of digital technologies to school. Approaching Children in the Playground Please note that if you have a concern about the behaviour of another parent’s child at any time in the school ground the correct course of action is to direct your concern to a member of the teaching staff. Under NO circumstances may a parent approach a student in the playground to address a matter of behaviour. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated. Buddy Day

On Friday 15 March we celebrated Buddy Day. At recess time the children had the opportunity to participate in a range of teacher and student led activities including AFL Footy, Soccer, SOS Game, Race to 100 Game, Knowledge Quiz, Four Square, Hula Hoops, Yoga, Pavement Drawing and Weaving. It was fantastic to see children of all ages playing together. Many thanks to Ms Lisa Murray for organising the day and to the staff who led various activities.
