and the Church can only hold a maximum of 50 people. For weekend Masses you will need to email
[email protected] or telephone 01656 652034 option 2 to book a space. Please do this before 4pm on Friday each week. If you have not booked please DO NOT ATTEND.
*******************************
Our Lady Star of the Sea will be open for “Private Prayer” and Mass on each Tuesday.
Mass will be at 10am followed by Exposition until 1pm.
We are sadly limited to 16 people in the Church. Please if you are over 70 have any illnesses or are still
shielding we ask that you do not come on Tuesday.
If you wish to attend Mass, please contact Fr. Tim on [email protected] or telephone 01656 652034 option 2
to book a place. If you have not booked please DO NOT ATTEND. If you are contacting us by phone PLEASE
make sure you leave your name and contact details in order for your place to be confirmed.
I know some parishioners have keys to the church, due to the cleaning regimes that need to be in place please
DO NOT USE THE CHURCH for private prayer other than times when it is open.
For more Masses to resume more volunteers are needed so please do consider whether you could help.
If you wish to volunteer or for any other queries please contact Fr. Tim (see above).
My thanks on your behalf to all who have made this opening possible.
******************************
On the website there is an update on what to expect at Mass as we get used to this ‘new normal’.
In each church, there is a one-way system. The stewards will seat you and this is unlikely to be in your usual
place, please follow their instructions. Please adhere to the strict social distancing guidelines and use the hand
sanitiser provided. There will be no toilet facilities available in church. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms (sore throat, cough, fatigue, lack of senses of taste or smell)
please stay home. If you should be shielding please stay home.
‘I will hear what the Lord God has to say, a voice that speaks of peace. His help is near for those who fear him.’
(Responsorial Psalm Nineteenth Week in Ordinary Time)
Thus says the Lord: have a care for justice, act with integrity, for soon my salvation will come and my integrity be manifest.’
(First Reading Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Isaiah 56:1)
Please continue to remember all those who are sick and housebound in your prayers: Mary Bryan, Anne Colson, Eileen Coyne, Ryan Dixon, Angela Ellis, Barbara Fentham,
Elsie Freeth, Catherine Grills, Margaret Jarvis, John Lewis, Mary Maguire, Robert Morrison, Maureen Pritchard, Marcus Rossini and David Watkins

Anna & Bronislaw, Conall & Siobhan, Emma, Garry, Helle, Jamie, Keith, Margaret, Maria, Martin Ginnelly, Mike, Peter
(please email [email protected] if you would like to add a name to the list)

August, however you can still email
[email protected] or telephone as messages will be
monitored.
Switching over to direct giving Our bank now charges us for paying in cash. There is no charge for standing order transactions
and giving in this way also takes away the risk involved in respect of COVID-19 and cash
handling. We need as many parishioners as possible to give by Standing Order. This is also a
good time to reassess your giving to your parish. When is the last time you increased your
giving? Could you increase your giving simply by signing up to the gift aid scheme?
The forms to make this change are available on the website or alternatively they can be posted
out to you. Thank you to all those parishioners who have already responded and filled in a
standing order form. This really does make a huge difference.
