Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Today, our liturgy invites us to worship the Holy Trinity, our God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. One only God in three Persons, in whose name we have been baptized. Through the grace of the Baptism we are called down here to par-ticipate in the life of the Holy Trinity, in the darkness of faith, and, later on, after death, in eternity. Through the Sacra-ment of Baptism, we are made to share the divine life, getting to be sons of God Father, brothers of Christ and the temple of the Holy Spirit. With the Baptism our Christian life has begun by receiving the vocation of sanctity. Baptism makes us people who belong to Him, He who ex-cels as the Holy one, the «three times Holy» (cf. Is 6:3).

The gift of sanctity we have been granted through the Baptism requires faithfulness for a task of evangelic conversion which must always guide the life of God's chil-dren: «This is the will of God, your holi-ness: that you refrain from immoral-ity» (1Thess 4:3). This is a compromise affecting all those that have been bap-tized. «All the faithful of Christ of what-ever rank or status are called to the full-ness of the Christian life and to the per-fection of charity» (Vatican II Council, Lumen gentium, 40). If our Baptism was the true entrance to God’s sanctity, we could not satisfy our-selves with a mediocre, routine and su-perficial Christian life. We are called to perfection in our love, inasmuch the Bap-tism has introduced us in the life and intimacy of God’s love.

Thank you for your contribution to the Peter’s Pence Collection; and I also want to invite you all to celebrate the Dioce-san Corpus Christi Procession that is going to be on June 3rd, beginning at Holy Cross with a mass offered by our Bishop James Johnston and procession to Saint Anthony accompanied by Archbishop Joseph Nauman of the Arch-diocese of Kansas City Kansas after the mass around 3:30 pm the procession will begin to Saint Anthony for benediction with the blessed Sacrament. We are go-ing to have a novena to Saint Anthony beginning on June 4th to celebrate our Patron Saint.

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas:

Hoy, la liturgia nos invita a adorar a la Trini-dad Santísima, nuestro Dios, que es Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo. Un solo Dios en tres Personas, en el nombre del cual hemos sido bautizados. Por la gracia del Bautismo esta-mos llamados a tener parte en la vida de la Santísima Trinidad aquí abajo, en la oscuri-dad de la fe, y, después de la muerte, en la vida eterna. Por el Sacramento del Bautismo hemos sido hechos partícipes de la vida divina, llegando a ser hijos del Padre Dios, hermanos en Cristo y templos del Espíritu Santo. En el Bautismo ha comenzado nues-tra vida cristiana, recibiendo la vocación a la santidad. El Bautismo nos hace pertenecer a Aquel que es por excelencia el Santo, el «tres veces santo» (cf. Is 6,3). El don de la santidad recibido en el Bautis-mo pide la fidelidad a una tarea de conver-sión evangélica que ha de dirigir siempre toda la vida de los hijos de Dios: «Ésta es la voluntad de Dios: vuestra santifica-ción» (1Tes 4,3). Es un compromiso que afecta a todos los bautizados. «Todos los fieles, de cualquier estado o régimen de vida, son llamados a la plenitud de la vida cristiana y a la perfección de la cari-dad» (Concilio Vaticano II, Lumen gentium, n. 40). Si nuestro Bautismo fue una verdadera en-trada en la santidad de Dios, no podemos contentarnos con una vida cristiana medio-cre, rutinaria y superficial. Estamos llama-dos a la perfección en el amor, ya que el Bautismo nos ha introducido en la vida y en la intimidad del amor de Dios. Gracias por su contribución a la colec-ción del Óbolo de San Pedro; y tam-bién quiero invitarlos a todos a cele-brar la procesión Diocesana del Corpus Christi que va a ser el 3 de junio, co-menzando en la parroquia de la Santa Cruz con una Misa ofrecida por nuestro Obispo James Johnston y procesión a nuestra parroquia de San Antonio acompañado por el Arzobispo Joseph Nauman de la Arquidiócesis de Kansas City Kansas después de la Misa que será alrededor de las 2:30 PM para la bendición con el Santísimo Sacramen-to en nuestra parroquia. La solemnidad del Santísimo Cuerpo y Sangre de Cristo será celebrada con

Misa, procesión y la bendición de clausura el domingo 3 de junio. Todos están

invitados a participar de esta celebración. La procesión inicia en La parroquia

de La Santa Cruz ubicada en 5106 St. John Avenue Kansas City MO 64123.

La Misa con el Obispo Johnston y el Arzobispo Naumann a la 1:30. La proce-

sión caminará hacia el oeste en St. John hacia el Concourse y luego hacia el

sur hasta la parroquia de San Anotnio ubicada en 318 Benton Boulevard, don-

de será la clausura de la ceremonia.
