Our Lady of Guadalupe Traveling Image As part of the Diocese of Metuchen's Consecration to Our Lady Guada-lupe, you are invited to host the traveling image of Our Lady for a full week. The image will deepen you and your family's devotion through prayer. The traveling kit contains all the materials you will need. The kit will travel weekly throughout our Parish. Please call the parish office to

sign up for this prayerful opportunity. Please give your name, phone number and indicate which Mass you usually attend. Thank you!

Mass Book Opening We will be following last year’s procedure since it worked out so well. On May 8th, parishioners may call the office (732-545-5090, Ext. 104) to request an appointment for when to come in to schedule and pay for their masses. When calling, please be sure to speak clearly, leaving your name and phone number so that we may return your call. As usual, this will be on a first-call, first-serve basis; appointments will be given in the order the calls were re-ceived. Appointments will be given over a two-day period: Wednesday - May 15th & Thursday - May 16th.

(Please note: NO phone calls will be accepted before May 8th. Parishioners may select 3 weekend masses (this includes Saturdays) and 2 weekday masses. No exceptions will be made. Payment for masses must be made at the time of scheduling. Homebound parishioners and our staff members’ requests will be taken on May 13th. Homebound parishioners may give their mass intentions and payment to Sr. Frances when she comes to visit, or they may call the Parish Office starting May 13th. The mass intentions will only be accepted with payment. Please note that the dates and times are not guaranteed.

Please do not call the office to have the secretaries save dates for you; this is not permitted and will not be done. Once the two-day procedure is completed, you may come in to schedule more masses. ** Please note: The diocese has given permission for mass intentions to be shared during two weekday masses only.**

From Our Pastor … Dear Brothers and Sisters, ALLELLUIA! He is Risen! Let us rejoice and be glad! Today we celebrate Easter… What is Easter? Easter is the Resurrection - the fulfillment of the promise of our Lord that He would send down His only begotten Son who would give His life for our salvation … for our second chance … for us to repent and renew our lives and follow Jesus and His teach-ings. So, it is done! One of the great things about Easter is that the message and joy of this season continues on. It doesn’t end on “the big day.” Christ’s power and victo-ry over sin and death is ongoing. We are followers of Jesus each and every day …having hope, joy, love and generosity in service and that is exactly what our world needs. You can be a shining light, a true friend, a blessing for others. You can let the resurrected life of Christ overflow into all your relationships. My dear Parishioners, on behalf of the Parish staff, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a truly blessed and joyful Easter

and to thank you, too, for your continuous support in all our charitable efforts. With love and prayers, Father Benny Buona Pasqua! Happy Easter! Felices Pascuas!

Divine Mercy Sunday We invite you to come join us on Sunday, April 28th at 11:00 am for The Feast of Divine Mercy at St. Mary of Mount Virgin Church of the Parish of the Visitation. This service is usually held at 3pm on the Sunday that follows Easter Sunday. In order to bring as many souls as possible to the graces offered by Divine Mercy, we will have the Prayers and Chaplet (sung) at 11:00 am, and follow with the 11:30 am Mass. Confessions will not be avail-able before this Service, but as long as you go as close as possible to the Feast and receive Communion, the graces are granted. We are starting promptly at 11am. “On one occasion, I heard these words: My daughter, tell the whole world about My Inconceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete for-giveness of sins and punishment. On that day, all the divine floodgates through which grace flow, are opened. St Faustina’s Diary (p.699)

April 21, 2019 - Easter Sunday “He went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38) On this Easter Sunday, open your hearts to receive God’s love, mercy and forgiveness. God is love and we are made in His image and likeness. Let our lives reflect His light to others. Pray for guidance on how to live your life and give thanks for all that He has given you. ____________________________________________________

Reflecting on the Word – (John 20:1-9) Since we celebrate the reality of Jesus’ Resurrection every Sunday, it is hard for us to imagine how shocking this event must have been for Mary and the disciples. However, they did not need to fully understand the mystery to experience and spread the joy. Neither do we. We don’t have to be theologians or scholars to spread the Good News of Easter. If we truly let the joy of the Resurrection fill our hearts, we can’t help but tell those we love about it. ______________________________________________________________________

Quote “We are the EASTER people and ALLELUIA is our song. – Pope John Paul II

______________________________________________________________________

Food for Thought God has defeated Satan through the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Through this overwhelming victory, God has also empowered you to overcome any temptation to sin and has provided sufficient resources for you to respond biblically to any problem of life. By relying on God’s power and being obedient to His Word, you can be an overcomer in any situation.

Let Easter morning bring you…The charm of the silence; The splendor of the sun; the mystery of the darkness; the strength of the flame; the freshness of the air; the silent stability of the

earth and love, which is the beginning of everything.
