“My greatest happiness is to be before the Blessed Sacrament, where my heart is,

as it were, in its center.” – St. Margaret Mary Alacoque

These Past Three Weeks… The Religious Education Office has been conducting Vacation Bible School and Summer Religious Camp. The coordinators and volunteers have worked very hard to provide a enjoyable but instructive faith-filled program. How do I know? Parents have been e-mailing the office saying how wonderful it is when their children come home and talk about what they have learned. Kudos go to Mrs. VanDuynho-ven, Mrs. Rotar, Mrs. Santiago and all the teachers.

******** Sunday Collections

During the summer months, people are away on va-cation and attendance is usually down at the Masses. Unfortunately, we do not get a vacation from paying bills. Your continuing donations are very much ap-preciated and we ask that you please make up your donations when you come back. You can also sign up for WeShare and set up automatic donations.

********** Propagation of the Faith Collection This Week

Each year, a missionary organization is assigned to every parish as part of the work of the Propagation of the Faith. This year, Stephen Patterson of LAMP Ministries will be speaking about their work. LAMP Ministries originated in the Bronx. Members work with the homeless in the City, providing food and shelter. They also have a pro-life ministry. When we hear about missionary work we think about foreign countries. LAMP Ministries is local and attends to the needs of our brothers and sisters in the Archdio-cese.

The Pastor’s Desk

Prayer to Saint Michael

Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against

the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;

and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan

and other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen

Important Notice

Regarding Church Building Entry Doors

Our Lord receives many visits throughout the day and evening. Our aim is to grant access to the Church and also be diligent in watching out for your safety. Please remember, only one outside door will remain unlocked between 4pm and 8pm Monday-Friday. If you are coming to pray or will be attending a meeting after 4pm, please park in the Church parking lot and enter through the door located between the Handi-capped and Clergy parking spots. This change will also be in effect for All Night Adoration beginning in August. We appreciate your patience and the adjustment you will be making!

ONCE A WARRIOR ALWAYS A WARRIOR!

Thank you from Fr. Jisaya!

Through the Being Kind Foundation, I endeavor to help with the education of 45 underprivileged Christian children in the Gajapati district of Odisha, India. $150 provides each child study materi-als, school uniforms, shoes, sweater, umbrella, water-bottle, hostel fees and tuition fees for the year. Last summer we received 31 sponsorships and other donations from St. Stephen’s parishioners and were able to provide for all 45 children. So that you may see that we have been faithful to the purpose for which we collected the sponsorships and donations last year, please go to https://www.facebook.com/BeingKindIndia to see photos of the children receiving the study materials.

Therefore, on behalf of the Being Kind Foundation, I would be very grateful to all of you if you could help these children this year also either by sponsoring the one child for the whole year or partly by making some donation. I know that is a big amount but you can bring smiles on the face of these children by making whatever donations you can because it really GIVES them a big HOPE. Checks made be made payable to Being Kind Foundation and dropped off in the church office. Thank you to Fr Jack and all the parishioners of St. Stephen for you your generosity in helping these children and their families.
