MATERNAL HEALTH CARE PROGRAMME
A pregnant woman visits the maternal health
clinic all in all 15 times. Three of these 15 visits are doctor´s visits (NB, the partner is always welcome).
Also the partner is being examined during the second visit to a doctor.
In addition to this the fetus is being examined with two ultrasound examinations.
Maternal Care
After the childbirth a nurse from the maternal
health clinic comes to visit the family at home and the mother has a doctor´s appointment about six weeks after the childbirth.

New parents can bring up questions concerning
their relationship at every visit. Special emphasis is given to the following question´s: at the first visit, both the mother and her partner
answer to an AUDIT questionnaire No later than the 26th week, the nurse discuss
the VIOLENCE IN RELATIONSHIP questionnaire.

CHILD HEALTH CARE
During the child's first year the family visits
the child health care center 10 times. When the child is between 1 and 6 years old
we meet the family at least once a year.
Child Health Care
What do we do during the visits?
We follow the child´s physical, social and emotional development and the family situation in general
These frequent visits give the opportunity to develop a trustful relationship
We always ask how the family is doing, and the family is asked to fill in a questionnaire at least twice during the child's first year (EPDS, Violence form and Audit if necessary)

Before and after the childbirth
prepare parents for an active childbirth prepare parents for the first meeting with the
baby prepare parents for a new phase in life
(nursing the baby, breast-feeding, early interaction, couples relationship)
Create a feeling of togetherness between the families and hopefully create a desire in the group to meet on their own in the future.
Aims for Family Preparation (in group)
We meet the families in a group four times
before the childbirth. A nurse from the maternal health clinic leads
the first two group meetings. The third group meeting is led by a nurse from
the child health clinic and the fourth meeting is led by two psychologists.
Family Preparation before the birth
We meet the families in a group together with
the baby four times after the childbirth. The first and second meeting are led by a
