August 7, 2013 Welcome to the opening of what promises to be a wonderful school year! At this time of the year, there is great anticipation of what is to come, and I am as excited as South Atlanta School of Health & Medical Sciences’ (HMS) teachers, students, and parents. I am honored to have the opportunity to return to South Atlanta and to be part of this wonderful community. Together, teachers, students, and parents/guardians make a strong HMS family. We appreciate your support as your child enters the classroom, learns, and grows through the year. Let’s all commit to have a good school year, setting everyone, students, as well as teachers, up for success. Throughout the year I look forward to meeting the new parents and connecting with returning parents. I encourage families to get to know each other so that we can build new friendships and support each other as the need arises. Additionally, Parents’ Power Hour Bi-monthly Sessions will be held in our new Parent Center located in room D310 to keep parents informed as well as work collaboratively to ensure we meet the needs of all students. Another way to help our year go smoothly is to check out South Atlanta HMS’ website. It’s been updated and has information you need to keep on top of what’s happening at school. There, you will also have access to your child’s teachers’ webpage. Check it out! And finally, high school new hours of operation is 8:30 Patricia Ford, Ed. Welcome to the opening of what promises to be a wonderful school year!

And finally, high school new hours of operation is 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You set your child up for success by getting him/her to school on time, ready to learn.

We are ready to begin the 2013-2014 school year. The teachers have put a lot of time and energy getting ready for the year. At HMS, the staff, faculty, and administration are honored that you entrust us with your loved ones. The hours that your children are with us each day are so important. Here’s to a great school year!
