The graph shows that in the high disease pressure season of 2016, all varieties responded to the high input fungicide programme. Crusoe shows yield potential similar to or better than the other varieties within the Group 1 Sector.

Crusoe has short straw with good lodging resistance. It has a similar maturity to RGT Illustrious.

Crusoe has an attractive disease resistance package, with the best combination of yellow rust and Septoria tritici resistance out of the Group 1 sector. Growing crops should be monitored for brown rust levels and treated accordingly.

Crusoe has very good grain; similar to the other nabim Group 1 varieties. The variety has excellent milling characteristics, producing high rates of flour extraction with an appealing white flour, married with good baking performance. Crusoe also meets the specifications for the important export market, giving growers a choice of premium market opportunities, particularly for growers close to ports.

Crusoe has a proven inherently high grain protein content - the highest available on the AHDB Recommended List 2018/19, a significant 0.4% more than its closest competitor. Meeting the protein specification is vital to achieving the best milling premiums.
