Principal Newsletter ACTIVE ZONE ACTION! 2 June 2017 Dear Parent We have had a very calm but productive week after the secondary school returned from their ‘Active Zone’ three-day period of adventures in different parts of ‘wild Malaysia’. All the trips were a great success and the photos included here give some idea of how the students not only enjoyed themselves, but shows the different challenges that the students faced and overcame! Providing students with high quality learning activities in relevant situations beyond the walls of our classrooms is vital for helping students appreciate their first hand experiences from a variety of different perspectives. Experiences outside the classroom also enhances learning by providing students with opportunities to practice skills of enquiry, values analysis, clarification and problem solving, team work, independence, risk taking in a variety of demanding outdoor situation situations. It is all part of our GEMS Core Values. A big thank you to parents for your support of the Active Zone programme!

Wehavehadaverycalmbutproductiveweekafterthesecondaryschoolreturnedfromtheir‘ActiveZone’three-dayperiodofadventuresindifferentpartsof‘wildMalaysia’.Allthetripswereagreatsuccessandthephotosincludedheregivesomeideaofhowthestudentsnotonlyenjoyedthemselves,butshowsthedifferentchallengesthatthestudentsfacedandovercame!
