Abstract

My belief that all students can succeed with high expectations and a rigorous curriculum is not contingent on whether a parent or guardian is involved. I would like to research this to see if my belief is correct.

Although the findings were interesting, they did not bring me to a conclusion. There was not a specific pattern in the action research that led me to an answer. This study was inconclusive due to the action research only amounting to three weeks. In three weeks, I was not able to conduct the proper research in order to find the answer to my action research question. This led me to my next question which is, “Over an extended period of time (6 months or longer), does a lack of parent involvement affect children in school when the expectations are high and the curriculum is rigorous?” I am going to continue to track this over the next five months in order to draw conclusions based on the data.
