POLLING STATION AND SAUSAGE SIZZLE - Our school was used as a polling station on the
weekend and we had thousands of people coming through our grounds. Thank you to the parents and
staff who worked tirelessly preparing and working on our Sausage Sizzle stall to assist with school
fundraising. It was quite a warm day and they did a great job. Many thanks to all of them on behalf
of the school.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE AND HAMPER DONATIONS – It’s beginning to look a lot like
Christmas!! Children are getting quite excited at the prospect of Santa coming! Mrs. Dolphin has
been busy decorating our school entrance area to get us into the spirit of Christmas. Thank
you to the many families who have already returned their raffle tickets. If you require more,
please see Suzy in the office. Please remember to put your name and telephone number on
the ticket you return for the draw. We seek your assistance in donating items for our
Christmas hampers. The more donations we have the more hampers we can make up as prizes. We
thank you in anticipation of your donations!! (Please leave donations with office staff)
2014 CHRISTMAS CAROLS – This year’s Mulgrave Primary School Christmas Carol’s evening
will be held on Wednesday 10th December at 6.30pm. All grades will participate in this event
which provides a lovely lead up to Christmas!
SCHOOL COUNCIL – Our last School Council meeting for the year was held on Tuesday
evening. We thank all of our parents and teachers who have served on Council this year. A special
thank you is extended to Mr. John Fox, our School Council President, who will be leaving our
school community this year when his son Sam moves on to secondary college. John has been an
active member of our school council for many years. We wish John and his family well in the future.
HOUSE SPORTS DAY – Congratulations to Mr.Stuart Hattwell who once again organised a
fantastic house sports day for our school community. Students looked terrific in their house colours.
Great to see so many children eagerly participating in the events. Our recently purchased MPS
coloured marquees provided very effective protection from the sun. Funds from the Family
Voluntary Contributions for the coming year were assigned to purchasing these marquees early, to
enable students to reap the benefit of using them this year. Thank you to all parents for your support
in this! Congratulations also to GREEN HOUSE who gained the most points over the year and
whose house name will be appear on the school plaque for 2014. Well done to all houses for such a
fun day.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL TERM – FRIDAY 19TH
DECEMBER – CLOSING 1.30PM
NO ASSEMBLY
THIS
FRIDAY
‘BIG DAY OUT’ TO BALLAM PARK – THURSDAY 11TH DECEMBER – This is a reminder to
parents that we will be having our special day out next Thursday. All children will be transported by bus to
Ballam Park, Cranbourne Road, Frankston for a fun day in the park. Parents may join us at the park. We
should arrive there about 10 o’clock and will be leaving around 2pm. Teachers will be responsible for
students at the park. Children cannot be taken from the venue unless there are particular circumstances that
have been discussed prior to the day. All children will attend. As this is a free activity, I won’t require you
to complete consent forms. Only fill out the tear-off slip that will come home on the ‘Big Day Out’ notice,
if you request that your child does not participate in the day. We will have all contact details in case of
emergency with us at the park. We hope everyone has a wonderful day!
ORIENTATION DAY – TUESDAY 9TH DECEMBER – Next Tuesday our year six students will be
attending their state secondary schools for the day. Students moving on to private secondary schools have
had their orientation visit. Our new prep students for 2015 will also be attending our school between 9.00
and 12.00 to experience a longer session. Please make our new families feel welcome if you have the
opportunity to speak with them.
‘MOVING UP’ SESSIONS AND MEET YOUR TEACHER DAY – Teachers are currently preparing
students for moving to the next grade level. Students are learning about processes and practices involved
with moving up a year. We have allocated times when students will meet teachers at the next year level, to
discuss the learning models used and ask any questions they may have. On the second last day of school,
students will meet their assigned teacher and the group of students who will be in their grade. Please note
that grades and teachers have not yet been confirmed, as we are still selecting new staff for 2015 and the
process has not yet concluded.
GRADUATION 2014 – Mrs. Mann and our year sixes are preparing for this year’s graduation ceremony.
Students are very excited as they near the end of their seven years at primary school and look forward to
beginning a new experience in secondary college. Specific details of the ceremony will be distributed to our
year six students.
ASSEMBLY – Last week’s assembly was most enjoyable as we had so many performances. Our school
community really appreciated it, as did all of the participants! Well done to everyone involved. This Friday
we will NOT be having an assembly due to commitments that involve some of our staff. We will be having
an assembly on Friday 12th at 3pm and on the last day of school – Friday 19th December at 12.50pm
for our special end of year assembly.
2015 STUDENT MATERIALS AND REQUISITES PAYMENTS – All families will have received
their pink 2015 Student Fees notice. Fees are due from now until the first day of school. Students will

receive their individual resource packs at the beginning of the year once payment has been paid. This
system works really smoothly and saves parents any concerns with purchasing student requisites by
alternative methods. We have found that most families like to pay fees now prior to their Christmas
spending!! This year we have several payment options for you which include – Cash, Cheque, MasterCard,
Visa, EFTPOS, BPay and QKR Please call our school office to discuss any payment methods you would
like more details about.
