¡ PARCC — Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers: is the New Jersey State Assessment designed “to provide schools with information to improve classroom instruction and to give parents valuable feedback about their child’s progress”;

¡ Performance Levels : Describes 5 levels of expectations students can score on the PARCC (range of Level 1—not yet meeting expectations to Level 5—exceeding expectations);

¡ Scale Score: Describes the range of numbers that accompany each of the performance levels (range of Level 1, 650-699 to Level 5, 810-850).

QUESTIONS TO GUIDE PARCC DATA ONGOING REFLECTION

¡How will we use PARCC data to identify strengths and gaps that exist in our curriculum and instruction?

¡How will we use PARCC data as a tool to address areas in need of improvement or enhancement?

¡How can we provide additional resources and support for our educators to meet the learning needs of all our students?

¡ There has been a significant increase in WHR students taking the PARCC when comparing Spring 2015, Spring 2016, and Spring 2017 PARCC administrations.

¡ When comparing Warren Hills Regional to the PARCC Across-States’ and the State of New Jersey’s scale scores and performance levels, Warren Hills Regional is competitive and following the trends of the State.

¡ Warren Hills Regional continues to show significant progress in ELA/Literacy Grades 8 and 9 and Mathematics Algebra I:

ELA/Literacy 10 had the greatest reduction in Performance Levels 1 and 2 and the greatest increase in Performance Levels 4 and 5;Mathematics Algebra I WHR surpassed the State and had the largest improvement in Performance Levels 1 and 2 (16.8% to 4.8% respectively and the largest improvement in Performance Levels 4 and 5 (27.3% to 5.4% respectively).

¡ When comparing both ELA/Literacy and Mathematics, whether it is PARCC Across-States, the State of New Jersey, or Warren Hil ls Regional, the average scale scores and the performance levels are consistent for ELA/Literacy and Mathematics overall ; however, for Mathematics, the average scale scores and per formance levels depict Algebra II as the area of most need of improvement.

¡ When comparing the 2015 through 2017 Grade Level Outcomes for Warren Hil ls Regional in ELA/Literacy, the percentage of per formance levels of 1 and 2 continues to decrease for grades 7, 8, 9, and 10. (Note: A decrease is desirable for Levels 1 and 2.)

¡ When comparing the 2015 through 2017 Grade Level Outcomes for Warren Hil ls Regional in Mathematics, the percentage of per formance levels of 1 and 2 for Algebra I decreases and increases for per formance levels 4 and 5. (Note: A decrease is desirable for Levels 1 and 2.)

¡ Continue to increase the progress in the PARCC par ticipation rate ;

¡ Examine the ELA/Literacy and Mathematics Per formance Levels and scale scores and establish high priority areas of need, along with areas of strength based on the PARCC Evidence Statements ;

¡ Inform the ELA and Mathematics Department members about ways to use the Evidence Statements Analysis Repor t data in order to inform curriculum and instruction during their 2017-2018 Professional Learning Communities (PLC) meetings;

¡ Uti l ize PLC t ime to address the integration of action i tems into curriculum and instruction and oversee the implementation and evaluation; and

¡ Continue with the Warren Hi l ls Cluster Curriculum Committee (WHCCC) and share PARCC data trends in order to establ ish focus areas for the 2017-2018 school year.
