71st AIOS conference- 17th – 20th January, 2013 Ophthalmologists of Sadguru Netra Chikitsalya actively participated in AIOS conference held at Hyderabad from 17th – 20th January and presented 02 papers, 10 posters.On the occasion Dr.B.K.Jain Director and Trustee,Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust ,Chitrakoot has been awarded the prestigious APAO-AIOS “ Outstanding work for prevention of blindness”. He has received the award from chairman of APAO during AIOS meeting on 19th Jan, 2013 held at Hyderabad. Dr.David visit at Chitrakoot – 22nd & 23rd Jan, 2013) Dr.David.R.Tien MD. Pediatric Ophthalmologist & Advisor of American association for peadiatric ophthalmology and strabismus, USA, has Visited Sadguru Netra chikisalya, Chitrakoot on 22nd. The purpose of the visit was to have an overlook on pediatric services provided by the Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya in th region. Dr.Sobhi Pandey (Ophthalmologist), Kanpur, a longtime associate with Sadguru family, has accompanied him throughout the visit. Dr.David.R.Tien has appreciated the tremendous work has been carried out at Sadguru and also discussed the possibility for setting up international training center at sadguru for pediatric ophthalmology

School Screening Program- 02-03 Feb, 2013 With the support of Seva-TOMS a school screening program was organized in Pahadi Khera region of Panna District. Over 7000 school going children were screened, 150 spectacles were dispensed and 71 children were referred to base hospital for further treatment and management.
Inauguration of First Community Vision Centre: 14th March, 2013
The trust has inaugurated First community vision centre at Banda on 14th March, 2013. The purpose of the intervention is to provide primary level comprehensive eye care services in the community. This is the 25th Vision Centre but first upgraded community centre in comparison to the facility being provided in the existing 24 vc’s. In this centre every week one ophthalmologist visit is scheduled to do comprehensive examination of referred patients. On the day the centre was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr. Lalit Verma, Commissioner, Banda and Chaired by CMO, Banda. The day was gathered by local community leaders, Social workers and stakeholders of the trust.

Sponsor day meet: 23rd March, 2013 Sponsor’s Day is organized by Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya every year to honor the camp sponsors whose support is the main source of encouragement in conducting eye camps. The main objective of this occasion is to recognize the sponsor’s invaluable contribution to SNC’s community outreach program. The opportunity is also utilized to get the sponsors feedback on how to conduct the camps more effectively.
Diabetic Retinopathy Camp
The trust in coordination with Agrawal Samaj Satna has organized First Diabetic retinopathy camp at Amrit Vatika, Satna, on 24th March, 2013 in the region. The purpose of the intervention is to create awareness among the community regarding this crucial disease. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. L.P.Khare, Ex-minister, MP state and Social worker. Total 650 Outpatients were examined out of which 26 patients were referred for the clinical interventions at the hospital.155 patients identified with diabetes were prescribed with diet chart.
PMOA Workshop
Total 168 Paramedical Ophthalmic Assistants (PMOAs) underwent 6 days refresher training program during Jan- Mar months. The participants from Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh & Chhattisgarh participated in training programs. The main purpose of the training program is to orient the Government Paramedical ophthalmic assistants on skills pertaining to primary eye care delivery and expose them to recent advances in ophthalmology at primary, secondary and tertiary care level.

HMS progress review report: FY-12-13
Help Me See Project update: 1St April to 31st March, 15777 surgeries were done against the target of 14150. Over 65% patients were operated from vision center camps from Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh. The follow-up rate for HMS camps was over 85% a major achievement for vision centers and outreach camps. Update on SEVA-SNC Partnership
SEVA-SNC partnership dates back to 2001-02 with initiation of reach-out programs and capacity building of SNC. SEVA-SNC partnership is committed to eliminate avoidable blindness from the Central & North Indian States. Towards this endvour the partnership is focused on multiple programs that build the capacity of SNC as well as other mentee hospitals in the region. Currently SEVA-SNC partnership is engaged in: TOMS Project – to provide eye care services to 5000 poor & needy beneficiaries from the region in the form of Cataract surgery, treatment for emerging diseases and refractive error corrections. IAPB Project – to provide mentoring services to other eye hospitals (metee hospitals) for building their capacity through handholding in reach-out programs, systems development and specialty services. Currently SNC is engaged in mentoring of two eye hospitals each one from Uttar Pradesh & Madhya Pradesh Lavelle Project – Four vision centers are established under SEVA-Lavlle project for providing primary eye care services to the rural population. The project was started in 2008-09 and is extended for another three years i.e till 2016. World Sight Day Celebrations (2012) - To celebrate World Sight Day in real sense SEVA has supported 1000 cataract surgeries through Focusing Philanthropy, U.S.A. We appreciate invaluable contribution of Help Me See, Seva Foundation, TOMS, Lavelle, IAPB, Sight Savers International, Maruti Trust (U.K), NPBC, Vision 2020 India for their extended support to SNC in elimination of avoidable blindness in the region.

Follow-up visit -Date: 02/01/2013 Team of Jankikund Chikitsalaya has visited Chauraha villge for Follow-up to be done for 24 malnourish. The checkup was accomplished by Dr. Shailja Sahu, Nursing students and dietician, during visit they checked the health status of the children and oriented about health awareness to their parents for improvement.
Family Planning (Laparoscopic tubectomy) Camp-7 Feb, 28 Feb & 14 March Laparoscopic tubectomy surgery in India is considered as the safest method for permanent pregnancy control. Jankikund Chikitsalaya has organized three LTT camps on 7 Feb, 28 Feb & 14 March. Trust gave incentives to motivators who motivated the people for Tubectomy & vasectomy. Total 48 cases were done by Dr. Devendra Singh, Dist. Hospital, Satna in the camp. Fistula Camp-Date: 21/02/2013 Jankikund Chikitsalaya has organized free fistula camp on 21st Feb, 2013. The visiting surgeon was Dr. B.D.N.Murari from Gujrat.Total 23 cases were operated on the occasion.

Debate competition - ‘Vedanta 13’- 12th Jan, 2013 A debate competition was organized at Rawatpura Sarkar College of management. Total 40 students of various schools of the region along with 8 students of S.P.H.S. junior (8-14) age & senior group (15-18) age participated in the competition. The Topic of the competition was – ‘’HOME WORK SHOULD BE GIVEN TO STUDENTS IN SCHOOL’’. Two students from SPHS in ‘junior group’ got I & II prize i.e.Astha Agrawal (class-8) and Apeksha Agrawal (class-6). 64th Republic Day Celebration

The 64th Republic day was celebrated at the trust on 26th Jan 2013.The main function was organized at Vidyadham Hr. Sec. School. Chief Guest of the program was Girish Bhai from USA. The Flag was hoisted by Mrs. Usha.B.Jain, Chairman, Sadguru Shiksha Samiti. Various cultural programs were organized on the occasion by the students of Sadguru Shiksha Samiti. The main attraction of the day was Quiz competition program, in which 6 teams from Sadguru Shiksha Samiti, Sadguru Netra Chikitsalaya and Jankikund Chikitsalaya participated. Team from Sadguru Shiksha Samiti stood first in the competition.

13th Sadguru Mahotsav: 22 Jan 2013 The trust has celebrated 13th Sadguru Mahotsav on 22nd January , 2013. The theme of the program is to conduct various sports, cultural and educational activities whereas due to rural background the community don’t lay stress on such activities, for promotion of such activities in this rural area the trust is dedicated to make such efforts to change the mind. Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Madhav Singh Dandi, Chairman, Arts & Handicrafts department, M.P. Govt. Special Guest of the program was Mr. Bharat Pathak, Head, DRI, Chitrakoot and Chairperson of the program was Dr.
David, Chairman, American Academy Ophthalmological Committee, USA. The program was inaugurated by the Chief Guest by hoisting the flag. On this occasion Students of Sadguru Shiksha Samiti and various schools from the region participated in the event.
Inauguration of Vocational Training Centre: 01st Feb, 2013 Trust inaugurated a vocational training centre on 01st Feb, 2013 by the hands of our Gurubhai, Shri Girish Bhai Patel, USA. He is one of the prominent contributors of the trust who is continuously taking the financial support initiatives in bringing forward the dreams of the trust. He is among those supporters who think how this trust could perform better in the community enhancement programs. The main features of the centre is to strengthen the art, craft and beautician skills within the females and to empower themselves in earning their livelihoods.
Ambulance for Emrgency services – A Support from State bank of india
In continuation to the support to the Trust, the State Bank of India, Satna branch has decided to donate a well-equipped ambulance for handling the emergency services at hospital. The Regional Manager, State Bank of India has handed over the draft to Dr.B.K.Jain Director & Trustee,Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust .Dr.B.K Jain has conveyed the gratitude to the SBI team on behalf of Sadguru Trust.

Free Cataract surgical camp Free camps were organized by Shri Sadguru Seva Parivar Rajkot from 1st Feb to 28th Feb. Inauguration ceremony was chaired by State Minister Kanhiyalal Agrawal and Ex- State Minister Rajkumar Patel. Dr. Visnhu Jobanputra ,Shri Goverdhan Upadhyay and other Gurubhai and Guruben were also present during the ceremony.
School screening program During the month of January and February eight school screening camps were organized at different places of Dist. Guna and Vidisha in various schools. Nearly 4000 children were screened during this program. Children with refractive error were provided with free spectacles and those required surgical measure were referred to the base hospital.
General surgery camp Sadguru Sankalp Chikitsalaya organized surgical camp from 27th Feb to 1st March and 22nd to 24th march. Surgeries were done by Dr. Venketesh Agrawal and Dr. Sanjay shah from Rajkot. The purpose of the camp is to serve poor and needy people of community who cannot afford the surgical cost. More than 40 patient got benefit under this camp.

Republic Day Celebrations:
The 64th Republic day was celebrated at the trust on 26th Jan 2013. The main function was organized at “Smt.
Susheelaben Arvindbhai Mafatlal H. Sec. School”. Various cultural programs were organized on the occasion by the
school children. Dr. Vishnubhai Jobanputra, Smt. ILaben Jobanputra, Smt. Bhartiben Jobanputra and other gurubhai-
bens attended the function along with the staff.
Religious and Cultural Activities A new temple of Lord Shiva established on the day of Basant Panchmi within
the campus of Shri Hanuman Trust.On this day a huge Bhandara was
organized.
On the occasion of Maha Shiv-ratri Manas Katha evam Ramayan Paath was
carried out at Shri Ramdas Hanuman Mandir from 2nd to 10thMarch 2011.
The Ramayan PAth was conducted by Pujya Shri Rajeswaranand Saraswati Ji
Maharaj and Param Pujya Bhakti pravah.
