Introduction: Since the last quarter of the semester started students will come into the gymnasium and sit in attendance spots for attendance. They will wait for further instructions to begin instant activity.

Instant Activity: Students will perform Everybody Tag Everyone is spread out throughout the gymnasium and once the teacher blows the whistle students will start moving/running around. Students must be aware of others while traveling. Students can tag one another but if you get tagged you must kneel or sit down. If the person that tagged you gets tagged youre back in. If two people tag each other at the same time then they will perform rock, paper, and scissors to decide who is still in. Transition: The teacher will blow the whistle for students to return to attendance spots and begin stretching and core warm up. Students will then walk over to the white board when teacher says to for further instructions.

Informing (Ms. Miller):The teacher will identify the safety rules and regulations of the class: Signals: READY, SET, GO: Will be the signal for students to start an activity.WHISTLE: Will be used to have students stop what they are doing and listen for further instructions.

Boundaries: If students are using one side of the gymnasium then they must remain on the side we are using. If we are using the entire gym then students must stay within the black lines. Students are allowed to sit on the bleachers but are not allowed to stand. Students are not allowed to touch the traverse wall or the mats covering it.Safety: Students must make sure to stay in their own personal space when performing individual activities. Students are not allowed to hit one another with any of the equipment. Students must keep their hands to themselves unless told otherwise. Students must make sure they are holding the parachute correctly.Class Rules (Ms. Miller): Remember to respect each other, the teacher, and all the equipment being used for the day. Please make sure to come to the teacher if there is any conflict amongst peers. Please ask to get a drink or go to the bathroom. When the teacher is informing NO ONE is talking or performing an activity.

Parachute Lesson:The teacher will then go over the focus for the lesson:Today we are working together as a class to perform parachute activities!WHITE BOARD: Students will be able to cooperate with one another while performing fun parachute activities! The teacher will make sure to inform students that working together is a great way to make new friends! Cooperation with others is important to do! Later on in life students might have co-workers they have to do presentations or projects with. Transition: Students will stand up and go to the middle of the gymnasium and find a spot next to the parachute and sit down.

Activity #1:-Students will first begin sitting in a circle with parachute and grab it with both hands-Students will then make a wave motion with hands to see how the parachute moves in the air. -Students are all making wave motion at the same time.

NEXT STEP:-Students will stand up and hold the parachute with their right hand and all face the same way.-Students will then travel in a circle with parachute while going counterclockwise.-Students will travel at a medium pace making sure to be aware of the student in front of them.-Students will switch to left hand when teacher instructs to and travel clockwise in a circular motion.

Activity #2:-Students will stand in a circle and hold the parachute with two hands. They will then move the parachute up and down when teacher says to.-Students will then go into the middle of the circle all together (making sure to be aware of bumping into others) then move back out to where they started.-When traveling back out students will be going backwards so make sure they look over their shoulder for safety.

Activity #3:-The teacher will assign students numbers.-The same number will be given to two students.-Everyone will remain in a circle holding the parachute above their heads now for students to run under.-Once the teacher calls a number the two students with that number will switch spots but have to travel under the parachute to do so.-If students need a break from holding the parachute above their heads they can bring it back down to their waist before the next number is called.-Students must make sure to move quickly while under the parachute!-All of the students must be holding the parachute until they hear their number called.- IF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES: are having trouble performing skills then there are other modified games that can be performed in the fitness room.Extension Up: The teacher can call more than one number at a time. Students must be aware of others while traveling under the parachute.

Activity #4: Cat and Mouse:-For this activity there will be two students who are mice and will travel under the parachute.-There will be two students who are cats and will travel above the parachute to try and find where the mice are.-The rest of the students will be holding the parachute in a circle and making a wave with the parachute.-The mice will be traveling at a low level trying to avoid being found.-Once both mice have been tagged or touched by the cats new students will rotate into the roles.-Students will make sure to try each position as the cat and mouse!

Extension Down: If students dont feel comfortable performing a different role then they can just focus on moving the parachute.Motivational Objective: If students are the cat they can see how quickly they are able to catch the mice!

Transition; Teacher will blow her whistle for students to stop. Students will place the parachute down and leave it in the middle of the gymnasium and walk over to the white board quietly.

CLOSURE The teacher will explain to students what she thought they did well today! Positive feedback will help improve the students motivation to keep giving 100 percent effort. Students will then express how they felt working as a class and what cooperation means to them. The teacher will make sure students know at least 3 other names in the class. Allow students to return to locker room and change. The teacher will make sure to go over any discipline problems if there are any. TSSSSSSSSSSSSS
