Cyprus gets financial bailoutAs we go to press, after long‘midnight­oil’ discussions over thelast two weeks, Cyprus will receivethe European bail­out of €10 billionafter all.

To achieve a settlement, the country’sGovernment needed to make somehard decisions about the wholeCyprus banking system. The countryhad two major banks – Bank ofCyprus and Marfin Laiki/Popular Bank ­ both of which were long overdue forreform during the term of office of the previous Government, which departedpower less than a month before the crisis. To change Governmental control at sucha vulnerable time was always going to be a recipe for some sort of disaster. This‘disaster’ has been splashed all over the media, but the media themselves areresponsible for gross misinformation and alarmist reporting.

That’s not to say everything has been without worry this month. Although we atFitzgerald Marketing have had the record listing month that we predicted in our lastissue, other businesses have been experiencing hard times in the past 10 days withno access to their banking system.

Although the island’s other banks are untouched, it’s been recorded by the CIFSA(Cyprus International Financial Services Association) that the Popular/Laiki Bankwill be wound up and that the Bank of Cyprus will be substantially reorganized.

Basically the European Union lost itspatience with the Cyprus Governmentand its two, rather badly run, bigbanks. When the government changeda month ago, it was the ideal time toobtain a final resolution to problemsthat have been ignored for many years.

Cyprus has become the fifth country ­after Greece, Ireland, Portugal and

Spain ­ to turn to the EuroZone for financial help in the wake of the region's debtcrisis. Cyprus was forced to seek emergency aid from the Troika: the EuropeanCommission (EC), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the EuropeanCentral Bank (ECB). Cyprus has been been massively over­exposed to the Greekdebt of 2012.

But not all of this is gloom and doom; whilst every business and many families arefacing a radical financial re­think and are working out ways to ride out the currentfinancial storm, there will undoubtedly be a new wave of business opportunities,many of which will be property­based.

Русская школа в ПафосеОдним из важных вопросов наших русских покупателей является наличиерусских школ в Пафосе, где их дети могли бы продолжить свое образованиепо российской системе и в дальнейшем получить аттестат российскогообразца.

В этом номере мы хотелибы представить вашемувниманию русскуюшколу г.Пафос, котораядавно уже известнакачествомобразовательногопроцесса и результатами,которыми радуютвыпускники.

Школа была основана в1998 году при содействиипосольства Российской

Федерации в Республике Кипр. Это единственное учреждение в Пафосе, гдедети могут получить российское образование.

Для зачисления ребенка в школу потребуется копия свидетельства о рождении,личное дело, заявление от родителей. В школе носят форму. Вся необходимаяучебная литература может быть приобретена здесь же. Классы полностьюоборудованы, имеется аудио и видео аппаратура, есть учебные фильмы,оборудован современный компьютерный класс.

Кроме основного учебного процесса проводится внеклассная работа,устраиваются концерты­спектакли в театре Маркидио, школа принимаетучастие в карнавалах и различных праздниках г.Пафос. В школе работаеткружок ИЗО. Во время каникул на базе школы действует летний лагерь,который включает поездки в Аквапарк, Птичий парк, на лошадиную ферму, атакже пикники на природе и ежедневный отдых на море и многое другое.

Система образования школы следующая:

1­я ступень (1­4 классы) – начальное общее образование. Обеспечиваетосвоение программ начального образования, развитие обучающихся,овладение ими чтением, письмом, счетом, основными умениями и навыкамиучебной деятельности, культурой поведения и речи.

2­я ступень (5­9 классы) – основное общее образование (нормативный срокосвоения 5 лет) обеспечивает освоение детьми программ основного общегообразования, условий становления и формирования личности обучающегося,его склонностей, интересов и способностей к социальному самоопределению.

Школа зарегистрирована в Министерстве Образования и Культуры на Кипре с1987 года и функционирует в соответствии с правилами и законамиРеспублики Кипр. Школа тесно сотрудничает с Британским Советом, а такжес двумя известными и престижными Экзаменационными палатами в Англии,такими как Edexcel и CIE (Cambridge International Examinations).

Школа предлагает все стадии образования:

В период начального и среднего образования школа работает над навыкамиобщения у детей, а также над грамматикой английского языка, социальным иэмоциональным развитием, физическим развитием, знанием и пониманиемМира.

В 5 – 6 классах обучение детей ведется учителями в специализированных,предметных классах ­ Класс Исскуств, ICT (информационно­коммуникативные технологии) и научная лаборатория. Эта стадия помогаетдетям раннего возраста привыкнуть к системе, действующей в Средней школе,тем самым обеспечивая плавный переход с шестого класса в седьмой.

В 7 – 9 годах обучения детям предлагается богатая и сбалансированнаяпрограмма обучения, обеспечивающая их необходимыми знаниями ипомогающая сделать осознанный выбор. В 9 классе учащиеся выбираютпредмет для двухлетнего курса обучения IGCSE в классах 10 и 11.

Английский, математика и один из научных предметов обязательны. Длягреков и киприотов обязателен также и греческий язык. В конце 11 годаобучения ученики выбирают для себя ‘AS’ Level.

Также, школа предлагает следующие предметы: исскуство, английский язык,общие науки, география, греческий язык (как первый), греческий язык (какиностранный), информационно­коммуникативные технологии, математика,музыка, Физическая культура, социальные исследования, а также темы,связанные с наукой, историей и географией.

Упор делается на основных навыках владения устной речью, счетом иписьмом.

Институт предлагает захватывающие возможности студентам очногоотделения, а также заочникам, для обучения во второй половине дня.

Правила приема в школу зависят от возраста ученика.

Дети дошкольного возраста допускаются на основании собеседования сродителями (при условии наличия свободных мест). Дети, поступающие наподготовительный год, а также 1­й и 2­й классы в неофициальном порядке. Вслучае, если ребенок посещал другую школу, потребуются отчеты и образцыработ, которые будут иметь существенное значение при отборе и приеме вшколу.

Желающие поступить в школу в 3 – 9 годах обучения сдают экзамен поАнглийскому языку и математике. Греки, также, сдают экзамен по греческомуязыку. Поступающие на уровни ‘AS’ и ‘A’ принимаются по результатам,полученным в IGCSE (GCSE) и ‘AS’ level.

Летнее расписание рейсов «Трансаэро»между Россией и Кипром

С 15 марта на Кипре открылся сезон чартерных рейсов. Большую частьзаказов крупных российских агенств выполняет авиакомпания «Трансаэро».

На сегодняшний день туризм остался единственным надежным источникомдохода для республики Кипр. Поэтому роль «Трансаэро» в стабилизациикипрской экономики трудно переоценить.

В прошлом году было более 25­ти рейсов в неделю в Пафос и примерностолько же в Ларнаку. В этом году рейсов будет примерно на 30% больше: втаблице приведены рейсы и их статус на ближайшее время.

На чартерные рейсы билет будет продаваться только с туристическим пакетоми купить его можно будет только там, откуда полет начинается.

В этом году у некоторых рейсов статус регулярный, а значит, билет можнобудет приобрести на Кипре. Этим летом с Кипра можно будет улететь вНовосибирск, Казань, Уфу, Самару, Екатеринбург, Ростов­ на –Дону,Архангельск.

Введение такого количества рейсов связано с увеличением спроса и заявок оттуроператоров. Также увеличивается число людей, прилетающих на остров навыходные, и, благодаря большому выбору рейсов, они могут позволить себеприлететь в пятницу и улететь в понедельник.
