The performers were really astounding! There was a dance performance, a mini-

play, spoken word poetry, and two singing performances. This is to conclude the week-

long celebration of art chenez chenez. The performances were held in the Mariang

Banga grounds and many people attended it.

There was an interpretative dance performance and it was good! You can really

get the story that the choreographer had in mind. With such talented students, the story

was laid to the audience. It was evident that they put so much effort into making their

performance a good one. They did not only perform but it can be seen that they enjoy

what they are doing.

When it comes to performances, I especially appreciated the exchange of

echoes. The piece was good and the way of performing it made it even better. It was

unique and very chilling. One would think the idea is ridiculous because the audience

would have a much harder time understanding the words, but it was done right that the

words were emphasized instead. The presentation the well-written piece was creative.

The routines were very good that when it came to the theatre part, most people

were expecting performances that were as good as those that came before it. It was

good effort but they lacked something. It’s still better than one’s average capability of

acting but it just didn’t reach to the standards that the other performances laid.

There were two singing performances, one of which included a singer, a guitar

player, and a violinist. The other was a blah of the song “Coconut chenez”. Both are

equally good and entertaining. These several performances was just for concluding day

of the Usbong chenez and it shows that there are many talented performers here in this

region.
