Responsible forestry as per FSC certification is critical for maintaining the habitats of endangered cat species.

The Deramakot Forest Reserve is one of the only areas in Borneo which is home to the flat-headed cat, marbled cat, clouded leopard, leopard cat, and Bornean bay cat.
